Things look bleak for Google’s Android at Mobile World Congress

“We’re only halfway through the first day at Mobile World Congress and already things are looking bleak for Android. Many of the major manufacturers have already announced their new products at the show, and not one Android handset has been seen,” Eric Zeman reports for InformationWeek.

“Mobile World Congress 2009 was thought to be the real coming out party for Google’s Android mobile platform,” Zeman reports. “So far, it’s a bust.”

“What gives? Many manufacturers have committed to the Android platform. Where are the handsets? Mobile World Congress is one of the biggest mobile events of the year. Android’s failure to show up makes me very nervous about the platform’s future,” Zeman reports. “Android, where are you?”
