Obama: I’m a PC

Obama is “a PC user,” Peter Kafka reports for AllThingsD.

Via Computerworld: Intel CEO Paul Otellini said Obama called him last night to congratulate him on company’s decision [$7 billion in fab upgrades]. The president ‘reminded me that he sees the Intel logo every morning when he opens up his laptop; I was pleased to hear that,’ he noted.

“Of course, almost all Apple AAPL products, including any recent laptop the company has released, are based on Intel chips, too. But none of them advertise that fact [via stickers festooned all over plastic casing] the way that Windows machines do.,” Kafka reports. “In other words, when Barack Obama puts down his BlackBerry and boots up his laptop, he’s using a Microsoft machine.”

MacDailyNews Take: “Microsoft machine?” Obama’s using an Xbox as a laptop?

Kafka continues, “Next crucial question: What OS?”

MacDailyNews Take: Maybe it’s Linux? Or maybe it’s a Hackintosh? Of course, it’s probably some putrid version of government-issued Windows, but it’s impossible to know that just because, according to Otellini, Obama “sees the Intel logo every morning when he opens up his laptop.”
