Barclays analyst Reitzes expects Apple to launch new iMacs soon, iPhone in China by mid-2009

MacMall Holiday Sale“Apple is expected to bounce back with new iMacs at the start of 2009 and to launch the iPhone in China soon afterwards,” Aidan Malley reports for AppleInsider.

“Analyst Ben Reitzes of Barclays Capital expects Apple to make the iMac one of its first updates in the new year as part of an effort to revitalize its lineup that will likely include the rest of its Mac desktops as well,” Malley reports.

Reitzes also believes that the way [has been paved] for a launch in China by the mid-point of next year,” Malley reports.

“Apple is commonly thought to be negotiating almost exclusively with the Chinese government’s preferred carrier, China Mobile,” Malley reports.

  1. Would like to see the Mac mini TV/DVR in January. The AppleTV would become a secondary node to tap the main units entertainment at a second TV.

    All the parts and features are developed now. It is time! Put a Mac mini TV/DVR in every home in the USA and world wide! Take another market now!

  3. Haven’t Apple just refreshed the iMac line with aluminum and glass casing? I don’t see Apple changing them for a little bit yet, aside from internally. Afterall, all Mac products now take cues from the iPhone.

    And I still don’t understand the obsession with ‘mini MacPros’? What’s lacking with the iMac and Mac mini?
