25th Anniversary Mac on January 24, 2009?

“January 24, 2009 marks the 25th anniversary of the Macintosh,” Anthony Frausto-Robledo writes for Architosh. “This is a momentous occasion by all accounts but what does Steve Jobs and Apple have planned for this event?”

Frausto-Robledo offers up a few possible ideas a 25th Anniversary Mac:

• All aluminum updated version of the original Macintosh
• Mac Pro Ultra
• MacBook touch

  1. Yeah, this article is full of it.

    The “20th Anniversary Mac” was in 1997 and celebrated the anniversary of the birth of the company. In 2007, (the 30th anniversary) nothing happened.

    The anniversary coming up is the 25th anniversary of the Mac, not the company, and there is no reason to think that anything will happen then either.

    Plus how stupid would it be to put a modern computer inside an old Mac Classic box aluminium or otherwise? Who would buy anything with a 9″ screen and pay a premium for it to boot?

  2. Nah, just a fun little story. Wasn’t trying to be a wet blanket, or make any particular point. Well, except maybe that 20-year old Mac software still runs on my MBP. If I use Remote Desktop to get to a an older Mac running 10.3.9 and Classic.

    If that comment was for someone else, then nevermind.
