“On December 8, 2008, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple’s latest trademark application for Grand Central under application 77626943,” MacNN reports.
“This is Apple’s second trademark filing associated with Mac OS X Snow Leopard filed in the last month. Apple has filed ‘Grand Central’ under the sole International Classification 009 covering computer operating systems/software,” MacNN reports.
“Apple’s forthcoming Mac OS X Snow Leopard is set to deliver unrivaled support for multi-core processors with a new technology code-named ‘Grand Central,'” MacNN reports.

I agree with HMCIV. Google bought Grand Central a long time ago. Not that is going anywhere. Their blog hasn’t had an update in a long time after a great “…new stuff coming, stay tuned…” teaser. The Grand Central beta isn’t adding customers as far as I can tell either. Still works though as a buddy of mine uses it.

I already use Grand Central, though as a couple people have noted, Google is p*ssing me off with its total lack of progress after buying them. I use it, it’s a great idea, but it’s just like alot of Google ideas, it’s dying for lack of people running the ship. Their support forums provide no support. For another example, look at the Google Finance forums, and specifically at the Apple Finance page. Some idiot named Sumer, is spamming the Apple page with all kinds of hate-filled vitriol, and Google does nothing about it.
With Grand Central will I be able to use the extra cpus from another Mac if connected to a Snow Leopard Mac?

Only if the game makers optimize their games for Grand Central.
All things being equal, until Microsoft leverages the capabilities of multi-cores and provides game developers the means, Macs could have a competitive advantage. Apple marketing will not have the last word on this subject.
As for Crysis, I finished the game on an extreme iMac using all Medium settings and 2xAA and had an absolute blast! I have no doubt in my military mind that Grand Central would improve upon the experience.
Speaking of snappy – MDN is dog slow these days in Safari. To me it seems much faster in Firefox.
