S2 Games announced today that “Savage 2: A Tortured Soul” is now freeware. There are no longer demo restrictions of any kind and all players can enjoy the game for free. In addition, S2 Games has also released a Mac OS X client, so now all Mac gamers can enjoy this action packed game in a real OS. Savage 2 is also available for Linux and Windows.
Savage 2: A Tortured Soul is the sequel to the online multiplayer game “Savage: A Battle for Newerth,” which introduced gamers to the completely new Real Time Strategy Shooter (RTSS) gaming genre. Savage enabled players to opt for either the fast-paced, run-and-gun action of a first-person shooter (FPS) game – playing as a Warrior – or the more cerebral and tactical planning of a real-time strategy (RTS) game – playing as a Commander – working together as a team to defeat the enemy. Savage 2: A Tortured Soul builds upon the addicting, fast-paced gameplay of the original with additional squad-based features and enhanced role-playing game (RPG) elements which enable players to build their character level and abilities throughout the game.

Yawn.
I didn’t get asked to pay…
Um, let’s me download FREE. It says I can get a prime account for $9.99, but that has nothing to do with the actual download.

Intel only.
I can understand Intel only for games but for apps?
How hard is it to hit the “Universal Binary” button in XCode?
No M68k nor PPC601?
Besides, I am sure older processors would provide you with amazing gaming performance.
@Cubert
Out with the old in with the new?? Guess they dont feel like supporting it for anything but intel for mac. Though it being freeware.. you get what you pay for.
… and where is Unreal Tournament III for the Mac?
Anyone know if there are plans to make it compatible with GMA X3100 graphics cards?
