iPhone apps that can help you lose weight and stay in shape

“Why wait for the New Year to jump on into that resolution? Weight loss and maintenance can — and probably should — be a year-round venture,” Michelle Maltais reports for The Los Angeles Times.

MacDailyNews Take: If you’re interested in your health, there’s no “probably” about it.

Maltais continues, “There is a ridiculous number of iPhone applications dedicated to weight loss and tracking. We’ll be looking at many of them between now and the new year to help you figure out which fits you best.”

Maltais begins by checking out the following apps:

• Weightbot (99 cents)
• iStayFit ($5.99)
• iPump Free Workout! (Free)

  1. My favorite weight loss app is the “Keith Richards Diet”. You can keep track of how many Marlboros you have smoked and how many fifths of Jack you have swilled down.

  2. yeah but i think you lose count on how much cocaine you actually do, and that kinda gets expensive. but either way if you you definetly be on your way to skeletal thinness in no time going that route.

I thought he borrowed that one from Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes? You know… a cigarette for breakfast, a cigarette for lunch and a gulp of whiskey for dinner!

  4. I know how to lose weight and make money at the same time.

Next time you get some of those credit card offers that invite you to cash the check and pay 0% interest for a year, do it. Then, buy $37,000 worth of Apple stock and wait until next December. You’ll double your investment but will lose 20 pounds in sweat.

  5. @@Cubert,

Actually, I hear the planned update will keep track of your coke use by weighing the lines you snort off your iPhone’s screen.

Your use is measured in “Richards”.

  6. It’s so amazing what the iPhone can do now-a-days!! now if they made a cover that will hold your supply.

is “richards” part of the metric system, he is a Brit?

and Dutch Keith Richards is way older than Chris Robinson. well who knows keith could be the same age but he has way out smoked/coked robinson, just look at him.

  8. “‘is “richards” part of the metric system, he is a Brit? “

What? Oh come on. You really can’t be that bloody ignorant can you?

The British invented the imperial measurement system.
inch, feet, yard, furlong, mile. st, lbs, oz. etc.etc.

And a lot of us still use it.

The Metric system is an 18th century French thing.

Just because we the EU has forced our shops to adopt the Metric system for most things over here a lot of Brits still use Feet and Inches. And most of us (anyone over 30) weigh ourselves in Stones and Pounds. I just asked my 16 year old son how tall he was and he said 5′ 9″.

  9. “is “richards” part of the metric system”

No. It’s part of the “Alternative Metric System”, which includes units like “Ballmers” – measures your level of frustration.
