FYI: Call of Duty 4 for Mac is on sale this weekend: Friday, November 14th through Sunday, November 16th.
Featuring a tense storyline, filled with plot twists, Call of Duty 4 thrusts players into battle like never before. With amazing special effects, including rim-lighting, depth of field, texture streaming and character self-shadowing, players are enlisted into one of the most photo-realistic gaming experiences imaginable.
“Call of Duty 4 deftly balances cinematic action with intuitive and challenging game play. Emotionally devastating and visually engrossing, this is one of the most beautiful, grittiest, and well-written games to come out in the past five years. Anything more realistic would probably require you to be enlisted.” – MacWorld review, October 2008

[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Jeff” for the heads up.]
wait til next year and get it for half price!!
yeah, wait 3 years and you’ll get it for $10
Or wait for 10 years and you’ll get it for free, but you’ll be too busy raising your kids, you will not have the time to play it.
You can get it on amazon for $2 more, and that includes everything in the box…
Thanks for the heads up! I was thinking of buying this one to kill time occassionally. I’ve enjoyed COD2. It’s still pretty pricey but on sale makes it go down easier and I’d rather not have to us the Windows version even if it is a few bucks cheaper.
…. plus I like when I can support OS X development of any software.
Rob…
Kids? You mean those irritating things that bleed my friends dry?
No thanks. I’ll stick to practice runs only…
Drell is right…
Buy the DVD hard copy. The copy protection is supposedly draconian.
I got the CoD 4 disk a couple of weeks ago. Excellent. Online play is good too, although the stock multi-player maps are mostly bad. Some of the online custom maps are quite good.
So no copy protection issue if I buy the download? Deciding which way to go on this.
WARNING! This game requires some pretty demanding computing power! Be sure to read the minimum requirements before you buy. My 1 year old Macbook 2 Ghz core duo didn’t cut it, so I have to wait until I get a new computer before I can play this game.
I guess WOW Lich King is beating the pants off COD 4.
For the Horde!!!!
just my $0.02
Mac me Baby!…
Sorry I was unclear.
The DOWNLOAD has bad copy protection.
The DVD uses the standard unlock code.
@ Wandering Joe,
Unfortunately next year it will still be full price for the Mac version. You will be able to get the PC version at half off though.
Tis the way with Mac software.
Damn you, Horde!
For the Alliance, I will slay you!
