Apple will be celebrating the Grand Opening of their latest retail store, Apple Store Del Monte in Monterey, California on Saturday, August 9th at 10am.

To celebrate the Grand Opening, Apple is featuring a week of exciting events. In the store, Apple will have a variety of unique and educational presentations, demonstrations and workshops — all free of charge. The first 1,000 people to visit the Apple Store receive a free Apple Store Del Monte Chase T-shirt.

  1. Clearly this store opening was missing something very important – the Del Monte Man! If Apple could’ve hired him to run an instore juice bar….

    I mean, who does MS have, the superdork ‘Dell Dude’ and some homicidal guy in a metal suit called master chief?

    According to the ads I remember, he wears a clean cut white suit with a matching fedora. You’d never see his face in the ad (because of the shadow cast by the hat), but he’d turn up in a vintage convertible at the tropical plantation and start groping all the pineapples and so on. The tagline was something like, ‘The Del Monte Man/Man from Del Monte believes fruit should be more than something hanging on trees…’

    I think he’s meant to be some refined Englishman from the West Indies, a Roger Moore type perhaps.
