Apple has released iTunes 7.7.1 which includes fixes to improve stability and performance.
Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.
iTunes 7.7.1 (48MB) is available via Software Update and iTunes’ “Check for Updates.”
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Brawndo Drinker” for the heads up.]
Very snappy!
well this has fixed the endless sync time when connecting an ipod, i was getting pretty frustrated with that one.
It blends well, from what I can tell so far…
It’s for the new iPods.
How does this help with some of the teleportation hiccups I’ve been having with my iTele?

Would that be a digital blender? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”tongue wink” style=”border:0;” />
the 7.7.1 fixed my problem with iTunes seeming to hang for 3 or 4 minutes each time I plugged in my iPod Touch v2.0. eventually it would mount but in meantime iTunes would just beachball. very annoying
works normally now
This still hasn’t the case of the Remote app on my Touch not finding my iTunes library. Bummer.
@bc
Only 3 or 4 mins?? It used to take mine about 7 minutes!!!!
My ipod will now poach eggs. Thanks for the upgrade Apple
Since installing 7.7, the ONLY time I managed to connect my iPod Classic with iTunes took 40 minutes!!
I’ll be downloading 7.7.1 the minute I get home tonight – this had better work.
> Thank fricken GOD. 7.7 was a complete disaster.
Never had any issues with it. Hope this is more of the same. Downloading now…
More updates and fixes, please: especially the friggin’ “Never synchronized MobileMe” message that appears even after just synching!
@TanZing
I may have been optimistically underestimating at 3-4 min since I would just go and surf the net or something while waiting. so maybe 7 min you see is right! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
anyhow, fixed now with 7.7.1
@bc
Glad to hear it. I haven’t synced since installing 7.7.1 so I’ll see. I might just reinstall iYunes altogether and see if that fixes my Remote “can’t find the iTunes library issue.
dont get your hopes up guys…. I updated itunes… hooked up my 3G and I am not 40 minutes into the sync process and not even half way through it.
This is a huge hassle I dont know what apples problem is here. The whole issue is the backup process as you all know… the sync data portion happens as quickly as before. They need to either give us scheduling options just for the backup part of syncing or optimize the backup.. this is ridiculous…
It seems to have fixed app icons that showed up square in iTunes, including Apple’s Remote app.
Their next software update should let you uncheck the Safari install and also check a box to install manually in the future if you want. I’m getting tired of unchecking Safari 6 hours in the software update for iTunes just because I own an iPod.
Now I know why its getting so many downloads… People are getting so tired of this they just give up.
Make it as good as Firefox 3 and I’ll think about it.
7.7.1 fixes the SBBoD bug for my Classic 160 GB (I was having to wait 20 to 40 minutes for iTunes to recognize the iPod, during which I couldn’t use iTunes at all.) However, some people are still reporting problems:

My computer is twice as fast now. Thanks, Apple!
