Apple releases iTunes 7.7.1

Apple has released iTunes 7.7.1 which includes fixes to improve stability and performance.

Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.

iTunes 7.7.1 (48MB) is available via Software Update and iTunes’ “Check for Updates.”

  1. the 7.7.1 fixed my problem with iTunes seeming to hang for 3 or 4 minutes each time I plugged in my iPod Touch v2.0. eventually it would mount but in meantime iTunes would just beachball. very annoying

    works normally now

I may have been optimistically underestimating at 3-4 min since I would just go and surf the net or something while waiting. so maybe 7 min you see is right! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

    anyhow, fixed now with 7.7.1

  3. dont get your hopes up guys…. I updated itunes… hooked up my 3G and I am not 40 minutes into the sync process and not even half way through it.

This is a huge hassle I dont know what apples problem is here. The whole issue is the backup process as you all know… the sync data portion happens as quickly as before. They need to either give us scheduling options just for the backup part of syncing or optimize the backup.. this is ridiculous…

  4. Their next software update should let you uncheck the Safari install and also check a box to install manually in the future if you want. I’m getting tired of unchecking Safari 6 hours in the software update for iTunes just because I own an iPod.

Now I know why its getting so many downloads… People are getting so tired of this they just give up.

Make it as good as Firefox 3 and I’ll think about it.
