Apple’s iPhone country count now up to 78

“The iPhone Country Count is now up to 78 countries and territories. Thanks to a keen reader, Croatia, Malta and Liechtenstein are getting the iPhone this year too! This list is based on announcements from the global carriers that have made contractual agreements with Apple. It will be updated as more countries are announced as well as the official launch dates,” AAPLInvestors.com reports.

  1. Croatia, Malta, Liechtenstein? Tally four more users, Steve.

Seriously, I hope Apple sells hundreds of millions of these things. The cash flow will boost Mac design and development.

I like the GPS feature of iPhone. Whenever NSA detects an Al-Qaeda operative making a call, Hellfire missiles will lock on. Maybe NSA will send a complimentary text message seconds before impact, “Get ready to meet your maker, asshole.”

Is is true that smartphone intelligence will rub off on users?

  2. Damn! Croatia has it and Serbia doesn’t! It must be that T-Mobile that bought out their national mobile carrier… Hopefully, once Vodafone completes its entry into Serbia, they’ll be carrying the phone, thus equalising the perpetual regional rivalry between Croatia and Serbia.

And the number of carriers is even greater (with many countries other than US having several carriers selling it).

  3. “Croatia, Malta, Liechtenstein? Tally four more users, Steve.”

My little american, You’ve got to know that those very few Liechtenstein users can buy you all, no matter how rich you are, or how much your Apple stocks are worth, + the all United States of America in the bag !!!

Go there and you will understand !!! Have you ever heard of off-shore bank accounts??? Well, they take care of all that… all the money of the world is flying through banks of places like Liechtenstein. Steve certainly know their purchasing power.

  4. China and Russia on launch day, 5 mega pix cam on back with video recording and front cam for iChat, trust me it’s all gonna happen. The UK has the best deal with pay as you go, every kid that has an iPod is going to scream for an iPhone. 32 million sold by year end.

MDN Where is the stock ticker?

  5. Until Apple can beat my less than $20 a month completely paid off T****phone…

The iPhone is not for me.

Not that I wouldn’t love to have a great Apple product at my disposal, it’s the PRICE GOUGING $60 or more a month for AT&T;service!!!

Give us a break, most of us are in a economic dire straights right now.

    Greedy AT&T;.

The iPhone 2.0 should have come in three models.

1: Cheap and basic flip version
    2: Present version
3: Deluxe version with larger screen and memory, computer like.

The market is a broad range, just like Apple realized with the iPod, they need to control the whole thing.

When will they realize this with the iPhone??

    Answer anyone?

    Bueller?

    Bueller?

  6. Mad Mac Maniac:

Apple doesn’t have a sub- $1000 computer. There are many, many PCs that could be bough (brand new, not refurbished) for $300, and laptops for $600. If you know Apple, you’d know that a cheap iPhone will not exist. It may become less expensive, although it would be difficult to see it less expensive than $200.

Apple has always had minimum standards below which they just refuse to go. Unfortunately, that automatically means there will be part of global population that will never get a chance to try the Apple user experience (unless they buy an iPod Shuffle, although the level of that Apple experience is commensurate with the price of the Shuffle…).

If you are adamant at paying $20 or so per month for your mobile needs, you may be able to pick up an old, unlocked 1st generation iPhone and use it with your SIM card. Be careful, though, not to use data services, as those $20 bucks will rapidly rise to $70 or more on those pay-as-you-go plans.

  7. @ Mad Mac Maniac,

A “basic” version of iPhone devoid of the “unessential” features would destroy that which makes the iPhone the iPhone.

Obviously the iPhone is not for you. Get over it, get a better job, get more educated and get a better job, or quit your whining.

If people in third world nations can afford an iPhone, what’s your problem?

  8. @Mad Mac Maniac..

I just love reading how an average Joe Schmoe seems to know how to better run Apple than the man (Steve Jobs) who brought Apple from the verge of extinction and turned it into one of the most powerful CE companies in the world in 11 short years..

-With iTunes, Apple now operates the largest music outlet in the world.

-The iPod is the dominant market leader and in the top 3 selling electronic gadgets of all time.

-The Mac business and marketshare has tripled in the past 3 years and shows no signs of slowing down.

-Apple retail is the fastest growing and most successful retailchain in history.

-iPhone is poised to become the dominant global leader for the next gen mobile computing device.

-Apple has absolutely zero debt and is sitting on nearly 20 Billion in cash.

Yet, you claim to know what they need to do to succeed with the iPhone better than they do?

    Ha. you’re funny!

  9. @c

LOL… yeah I would love to see the 300 holding their shields up and iPhone in hand.

King Leonidis sees his enemies, BB, Nokia, Plam, WinMo…immortals of the smartphone warrirors

Dilios: Immortals… we put their name to the test.
