Apple has posted “Hallway,” the first television commercial for iPhone 3G:

Slightly similar to the first Mac commercial. Hmmmm
It’s got that whole Austin Powers, Dr. Evil thing happening.
I love this ad. And good on Apple for getting LG’s Mr. Ironman himself, Robert Downey Jr., to voice the ad.
Oy ge vault!

I just finished watching the keynote, this new iphone will be like a co processor for the brain. What about revenue from carriers? does some one knows something about apple getting revenue from carriers?
classic david fincher style. looks amazing. i remember i saw him on that youtube-video from the 5th avenue-store set where they filmed the ad one week ago.
Cool commercial… but even cooler, the fact that iPhone3G will land in my home country, Ivory Coast (West Africa).

“classic david fincher style”
But there’s no room to panic.
A new ad for the new phone. More conventional to appeal to more of “the masses”?
Very bland looking spot actually – in a classic David Fincher way. A commercial showing off the new apps and games will sell far more iPhones.
Is this what they closed down the 5th Avenue store for?
Personally I feel it’s a poor ad as it doesn’t show what the iPhone does or how it works. The main difference between the iPhone and the rest isn’t in *what* they do but *how* the iPhone does it. The only people who might be impressed by this ad are ones who already know what the iPhone is like.
This ad is telling the masses, that a new iPhone is going to be released.
When Apple start selling the iPhone 3G, I’m sure they will play iPhone ads, similar to what they had with the older iPhone.
@brau
Doesn’t everybody *already* know how the iPhone works…
This ad is pure genius.
since everyone has been looking for an iphone killer, in the ad people want to see what is going to kill the iphone, whats inside the metal box. surpirse! iphone 3G!
This ad isn’t meant to show *how* the iPhone works–notice the mention of twice as fast for half the price. It’s that *half the price* part they want to get across now. Then there will probably be a commercial of someone playing a driving game on it.
The iPhone is possibly the most recognized, lauded and sought consumer electronic device ever. Apple doesn’t need to explain what it does anymore. I like the ad!
@ampar,
is that “i am my beloveds”??
I think this is a great ad, simply because it doesn’t show the features of the iPhone. Apple already did enough of those ads…this classy ad simply tells the public that there’s a newer, faster, and cheaper iPhone out. Another one of those cutesy iPhone ads would’ve made me tear my–and others’, I’m sure–hair out.
