SingTel, Bharti Airtel, Globe and Optus today announced that they have signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Singapore, India, the Philippines and Australia later this year.
More information will be released at a later date.

The global domination continues …
so vodafone and optus already signed up for australia…
At least they’ll be able to understand the customer service reps.
SingTel? Singing telephone?
whennnnnn?? oh when will it be released in India… Airtel give us a date!!! This is probably the longest I have held out for something i’ve wanted so bad… and I don’t think i’ve ever wanted any product as badly as the iPhone.
Hope the new version kicks ass!
Ever since Vodafone announced it, I have had so many telemarketers from idea calling me to tell me about crackberry or nokia or sony ericson, and what a great deal that is happening now.
I told them clearly, the iPhone… I’ll wait another year in pain if I have to do so.
Is that why they call it the Lucky Country?
Like I said here some time ago, Optus used to be an Apple reseller in Australia. So it is not surprising that they will carry the iPhone.
I will be surprised if Telstra have anything to do with the iPhone as they are so ‘Microsoft’ in everything they do. Telstra and Microsoft are almost one and the same.
