The Pixar Story with Steve Jobs interview airs on Starz tonight

Set your TiVos! Tonight, April 22, at 10-11:30pm, Starz will air “The Pixar Story.”

Marc Bernardin reports for Entertainment Weekly, “Here’s the problem with this doc, which charts the birth, near-death, and explosion of the multiple-Oscar-winning animation studio: It will make you realize that your job sucks. Because unless you work for John Lasseter at the MIT–meets–Romper Room HQ, hatching hits like Toy Story and Cars, then you have no idea how rewarding a job can be. The vibrant doc includes interviews with big names integral to Pixar’s success: Tom Hanks, George Lucas (who funded Pixar, then sold it), and Steve Jobs (who bought it and kept the faith).”

  1. Big whoop. Steve Ballmer is reported to be the lead investor in an animation studio too. I understand it will be called ‘Dixar’. Movies will cost less to produce than any of the tiresome crap Pixar has done because Dixar will use their awesome ability to partner with film distribution outlets and studios whereas Pixar forces you to watch their movies through Disney distribution only.

I can’t wait to see the Dixar Story with Steve Ballmer on Starz in 10 years. Put that in your namby-pamby calendar application (if you have one), MAC dorks.

    Your potential. Our passion.™

It’s OK, I knew that already.

  3. Can we please have some place cool to work in Louisiana??!?? I would love to work for a company like Pixar or Apple, but I really don’t want to move to Cali…actually my wife doesn’t want to live there. It’s too damn expensive and we’d rather take our chances with hurricanes than earthquakes. Come on Apple, quit piddling around with the perfect weather in CA and move to LA! We have great humidity and big mosquitoes!
