“Steve Jobs’s plans for a new Apple campus in its hometown of Cupertino, Calif. are taking a little longer than expected to become reality,” Jon Fortt blogs for Fortune.
“Two years ago this month, the Apple CEO made a surprise visit to a Cupertino City Council meeting to deliver big news: Apple had been looking for an additional site for its growing workforce, and considered leaving its longtime home. But the company managed to cobble together nine pieces of land about a mile from Apple’s current digs, and decided to stay in Cupertino after all, using both locations,” Fortt reports.

“Two years after the announcement, Apple has not applied for permits to build on the site, confirmed Ciddy Wordell, a project manager for the city of Cupertino who is in charge of the North Vallco development area where the new Apple land is located,” Fortt reports.
“Once all of that is done, it often takes about two years for a major construction project to be completed. So unless Apple gets its campus plans moving more quickly, it looks like the whole ordeal drag on a bit longer than Jobs had hoped,” Fortt reports.

Considering the work they put into their stores, designing a whole new campus is no doubt going to take some time. They’re probably trying to figure out how to make the whole thing out of a single piece of glass.
The engineers were pulled to work on the iPhone…..
iPod shaped monorail cars and elevated rail to connect the two areas. All cars run on Apple system with full wireless everwhere.

Wow even big city board meetings are nearly empty. People need to get involved and attend their local township/city planning meetings.
Actually they are secretly building the campus now and will be available in late June.
It’s delayed because they still need the necessary safety permits for the giant Home button in the center of the new campus that instantly transports employees to their residences.

Real Estate construction projects NEVER come in on time and under budget! I think there’ some natural law or something that governs this stuff…
Mr. jobs said it will probably take three or four years to design it and get all of the approvals, not two years.
It would be a mistake to assume anything about what Steve Jobs may have “hoped.”
