  1. The Leopard Graphics update totally hosed DVD Player on my 12″ powerbook. There are several threads about this on the Apple Forums. I had to do an archive and install, update back to 10.5.2 and not dl the graphics update to get it back up and running again.

When’s Apple going to fix that?

  2. I have a 12″ and have the same problem; this is still the best small laptop Apple has ever made because of its screen size, 4:3 ratio, full features and interchangeable battery. It’s still ideal for travel. It is not obsolete and Apple is doubtless working on a fix as a matter of priority: just another Leopard bug to address, but a particularly annoying and embarrassing one, all the more reason to deal with it.
I recently got another 12″ because my daughter wanted a replacement after her machine was stolen in Saigon, and she didn’t want a 13″ MacBook: she prefers the smaller screen. Fortunately she is running Tiger, and won’t be upgrading to Leopard until this is fixed.
