Oh my various Gods, this is good news indeed!
Reclaimer,
Don’t have a cow, man.
It would be great if they also announced some sort of iPhone partnership there. I’m moving there in June and can’t fathom using any other phone.
That should curry favor from their Apple fans.
Apple should be up in “arms” about this.
Ok, bad joke. Hey, at least I tried.
Up in arms in regards to “celebrating” not being angry.
Hey, it’s Friday. My brain shuts down about this time.
iStore opened in Bangalore first. Its been operational since nov 07. I visited the store. Its just like visiting any Apple store. They have only apple products on display.
When I asked iStore employee about iPhone Launch – he said it would come to India in September.. Hoping they will launch 3G iPhone with better storage capacity. But can’t wait that long..
… and caste any doubts aside…
Now we’re talking!!! They should do at least the same in China and everywhere else. The world is big, so should be Apple. Especially now that they up to dominate portable computing.
Oh, Bluefin! That was sari!
Mr. Jobs, I thank you from the heart of my bottom! —Apu
Agra culture will really benefit from an abundant Apple crop.
I wonder if that crap that just appeared in Ballmer and Michael Dell’s pants has a tinge of curry in it.
” . . . has a tinge of curry in it.”
Ann?

“Indian networking in action”
Holy crap. It looks like the rigging of collapsed pirate ships. Or a giant spider on acid.
@ Ampar
Or Spiderman after a wild night of drinking and partying.

With J. Jonah Jameson pantsed and mouth duct taped shut hanging by a thread upside down over a busy intersection.
Let’s hope that Reliance Retail has a long term deal with Apple, and that Apple doesn’t start opening Apple stores in India.
At least the locals will be able to understand when they call Apple customer service.
ron,
The last I checked (December 07), in Australia at least, Apple customer service was as local as vegemite sandwiches.
Holy Cow!!! Thank Shiva.
I wonder how this will work out. Doesn’t India still have insane import tariffs on electronic goods?
