Aspyr Media, Inc. announced today that Neverwinter Nights 2 for Mac has begun shipping to retail stores in North America. The computer role-playing game set in the fantasy world of the Forgotten Realms, one of the popular campaign settings of Dungeons and Dragons, was licensed from Atari and developed for Mac by Aspyr Studios.
Rise from a peasant to a full-fledged hero as you defend the Realms against one of the greatest threats of the age!
Build a character that suits your style of play – good or evil, chaotic or lawful, with any number of skills, feats and professions available at the click of a button. Whether lobbing fireballs and researching forgotten spells as a powerful Wizard, hacking a trail through legions of orcs as a Fighter armed only with a battle axe and your courage, or taking on the role of a Rogue that can slip into the shadows at a moment’s notice, the choice is yours. Choose your alignment, your allies, your companions, and how you want your character to develop… design the character you want, role-play the way you want, and carry the battle to the enemy.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is now available through Aspyr’s website, http://www.aspyr.com/product/info/84, for US$49.99.

Mac level editor this time?!?!
NOTICE: Apple Intel Chipsets only. Power PC Processors (G4 and G5) are not supported.
Damn. I got a Quad G5 sitting in the corner collecting dust. Damn Cider-$hit!
Oh well, i got a new Macbook, so……
NOTICE: Intel integrated video chipsets are not supported.
AAARGHH!! (bangs head on the table)
FU ASPYR!
note to ZERO:
Get used to it. Any major game released from now on will be this way.
Actually this game isn’t Cider based, it’s a proper Mac port. Aspyr hasn’t jumped on the Cider bandwagon yet (thankfully).
Does anyone know if it is copy protected like the Windows version?
I hope to God that NWN 2 is better than NWN 1.
If Inside Mac Games gives it a good review, I’ll buy it.
NWN 2 was getting mediocre reviews amongst my NWN 1 brethren several months back. Mostly about how the game appeared to be geared for single player much more than multiplayer (which we were all into, obviously). I always enjoyed playing NWN 1, it was just a huge sucker of free time that I couldn’t afford.
I may eventually pick this game up if I get a new tower, although I would probably put my gaming hours into LOTR Online by way of Boot Camp (native OS X games preferred if any game developers are listening!)
NWN2 is much better than NWN1. I’ve been playing it through Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro for the last year. But I’m definitely looking forward to switching over to this Mac version now that it’s out.
i don’t bother playing games on my mac as even my mac pro quad 2.66 with radeon x1900 is garbage compared to my ps3 and 360
surf / work on the mac – play on your pc / console
I’d like to play games through MacOS instead of through Boot Camp, but why pay $50 for this when you can get it the PC version for $5 off eBay?
I’ve been playing on BC for while, too. Sadly, I’m more interested in maying for the expansion pack already available than the way late Mac port that I’m not sure will EVER get extensions.
