Apple Retail Store confirmed for Melbourne, Australia

MacTalk forum member Jedda, has discovered that Apple is planning an official store in Chadstone, one of the southern hemisphere’s largest shopping complexes.

“Quotes from Apple and Chadstone management confirm the new store, planned to open in Feb 08, soon after the flagship store in Sydney,” MacTalk reports.

  1. Yanks only seem interested in the outback image of Australia where the population is most similar to the cowboys of the west.

I would assume mac users in the outback would be almost non existent compared to a healthy community in all the major cities.

Welcome Apple Retail to Australia! Where the bloody hell have you been? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  2. Bahahaaha, I have no idea where these Outback Steakhouses are? Most steakhouses down here have shut-down, and they are in city areas.

I think maybe it’s another translation issue with our barbeque – We generally don’t put shrimps on the barbie, just steak, hamburgers and sausages and occasionally a few other things. Depends on who you are I guess.

Back on topic – An Apple Store in Chadstone would do really well given the small CompNow that’s there now is always packed, and it’s tiny as. But it would be nice to see a 3 story store with all the features of the NY stores…

  3. pffft chadstone??? they could’ve done a bit better in terms of the location… but i guess this is only the first store and we’ll have to wait and see for them to buy into places like chapel st and the cbd..

  4. Ampar,

I think I’ll pass on the Vegemite. I’ve heard it tastes like a cross between axle grease and dingo doody. Sounds like something from McDonalds, doesn’t it?

No offense to our Mac brethren down under. And those pictures of Melbourne are really nice.

  5. I just want to point out that there already is an Apple Store in Chaddy. It’s a fairly small, tightly squeezed store that looks like it does fairly good business.

I guess they are just building on of those big spacious ones.
