Skyhook Wireless today announced the release of their upgraded SDK, which lets developers location-enable their apps with Skyhook’s Wi-Fi Positioning System.
Mac OS X support is included in this upgrade, along with some functionality improvements.
Skyhook Wireless is also running a contest, where the developer of the coolest Mac app will win an iPhone.
More info here.
I don’t understand why these developers keep trying to add stuff for the iPhone. Jobs has been clear on the get go that 3rd party applications are not allowed on the iPhone. It’s just a waste of resources. Too bad though, all these people want to bring cutting edge stuff to the iPhone, yet Apple just shoots them down.
The contest is for coolest mac app, not coolest iPhone app.
I’m talking about the contest. I’m talking about why bother writing apps for the iPhone or supporting a SDK from them? The iPhone does not support 3rd party applications.
@Originalrecipes: The contest has nothing to do with writing 3rd party apps for the iPhone. The iPhone is the prize, but otherwise has no connection to the contest.
Okay, so in English please…
What is this?
News just in, slow Mac news day!
News just in: Originalrecipes has a slow brain.
That’s not news! That’s been known for a long time. Now stop feeding him! When you don’t feed trolls, they go away, and try another Mac Site
Their marketing slogan should be:
Skyhook. Nothin’ but ‘net.
