Apple today released Audio Update 2007-001 which addresses an issue with version 1.0 of the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update in which a “popping” sound might be heard with some external speakers on Intel-based Mac.
This update is recommended for all Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.10.
Audio Update 2007-001 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.

No mas pop. Olé!
Oops. No más hacen estallar?
Well, isn’t that special…I was just verifying one CD master in a G4 PowerMac with 10.4.10 on it and had to repeat some sections with cliks and pops. After listening 2-3 times the pop’s were gone or had moved up to different location. I was using iMic USB.
Spanish is my native language, but I couldn’t understand it either.
It was sort of funny though, hehe!!
My Pop Rock candy is motionless and silent, what gives?
Uhh, MDN, what’s with the iPhone graphic? Are you just so used to putting it on all your articles that you added it to this one by habit? lol
Shogun: I think the iPhone graphic is an Apple supplied Ad/Link.
What about PowerPC macs? My PBG4 is popping, especially when running iTunes and QuickTime.
I’m hearing them on my iPhone too when listening to tunes.
You have an iPhone? I am so jealous.
This doesn’t help me at all. I have the pops but don’t have an Intel machine and am not running 10.4.10
To old and in the way:

What a sound of silence now. What a relief!
Thank you to the guys from Apple Engineering for the quick solution.
Mistakes can hapen and they did a great job to fix it.

10.4.10 gave me popping noises on my G5s’ external speakers.
Launching /Applications/Audio MIDI Setup and setting Audio Output/Format to 44100.0 Hz got rid of it.
