Apple CEO Steve Jobs to address Apple employees in iPhone speech tomorrow

“We’ve confirmed with multiple sources at Apple that tomorrow morning at 11:00am [Apple CEO Steve Jobs will] be giving an all-hands ‘Town Hall’ iPhone mini-Stevenote for employees only,” Ryan Block reports for Engadget.

We’re launching the most revolutionary and exciting product in Apple’s history this Friday. And given Apple’s legacy of breakthrough products, that’s saying a lot. I’d like to get together and share my thoughts about this amazing moment for our company. So please join me for a company-wide communications meeting tomorrow, Thursday, at 11:00AM in Town Hall. – Steve Jobs email to Apple employees

  1. I agree with “No squirt” it does seem that there are more cell phone commercials. I don’t know if that’s because we just happen to notice them more or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the cell companies weren’t peeing their pants.

  2. I love iPhone speeches. I love iPhone tours and iPhone articles …especially a recent one by the informative John Dvorak where he said, “Seriously, this whole thing is creepy..” or “I’m beginning to think some sort of infection may be involved.” ..great tech writer. I hope Steve Jobs company wide speech to the employees will rise to the kind of insightful clarity of the Dvorak article.

  3. I dunno, even with the RDF at full throttle, I remain to be convinced that the iPhone will be more important than the Apple II–the first real personal computer.
Then again, I don’t know Apple’s future plans for the iPhone…

  4. Steve said that iPhone is the first of several devices. What’s revolutionary is what can be done in a small form factor using multi-touch. Also, that convergence can actually work and be beautiful and compelling. Steve sees this as a big event because he has a new vision for what may be possible. That’s why this is big.

He said during his on-stage thingee with B. Gates that he doesn’t know where the industry is headed, but that he feels when something comes up that’s significant. This is one of those times.

  5. Town Hall is the auditorium in Building 4 of the main Apple campus. It’s where the iPod was announced, and it’s where Apple holds their shareholder meetings. When Steve does a comm meeting, the people who get there *very* early get into town hall, and everyone else either goes to the cafeteria or one of several conference rooms that have projectors.

  6. Honestly, Steve, the iphone looks great… but I think that little product you launched in 1984 was perhaps a little more revolutionary. Perhaps ditto for that one in 1977.

    Agreed.

The Apple II, the Lisa, and the original Mac all were seriously (if not insanely) revolutionary.

Revolution aside, this is easily Apple’s most PUBLIC rollout since 1984. Remember that it took a while for Apple’s other hits to gain momentum; iPhone is hitting the streets running.
