Apple Retail Stores to close from 2-6pm Friday, June 29; iPhone sales begin at 6pm

Apple’s Retail Store Web pages and online Apple Store announce:

The wait is almost over.

Apple retail stores will be closed on June 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to get ready for the premiere of iPhone. We’ll open the doors again at 6:00 p.m., when you can be one of the first to see, try, and buy the iPhone. Be sure to arrive early — iPhone is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

iPhone, the revolutionary combination of a mobile phone, widescreen iPod, and Internet communications device, is coming to the online Apple Store and retail Apple Stores on June 29, 2007, with AT&T as the exclusive U.S. carrier partner.

  1. Europeans? Cultured? Bhahahahha. Apparently, Europeans think so much of their culture that they gave their currency, weights and measures, and a large part of their government to faceless bureaucrats in Brussels. And what’s left after that, they tore down so that it wouldn’t offend the Muslims. In a generation or two, there won’t be anything left of European culture.

  2. BustingTheSkullsOfIdiots, Your overwhelmingly dumb name alone makes you look like a dignified interpreter of European politics and culture. Actually you might represent the average joe american patriot thinking about Europe. Sweet, Dude.

  3. The store interiors be like processionals (hopefully not like columns of Lemmings!), all the portable merchandise removed (4 hours!) and the stores configured to handle lines of people queued up from the store entrances to the sales people with their hand held checkout scanners in the rear. With no on-site activation they’ll sell enormous quantities on iDay!
