“Steve Jobs and Bill Gates took the stage together at the D Conference in Carlsbad, California, in what was billed as a historic reunion (the last time they had been interviewed together was by Fortune magazine in 1991 and a lot has happened since then). The reunion lived up to expectations. And at the end of it, all the tech luminaries in the Four Seasons ballroom rose and gave them a standing ovation,” Arianna Huffington reports for The Huffington Post.
Huffington reports, “Talking to Steve Jobs after his speech, I got a hot tip on how to be one of the first people to score a new iPhone when they go on sale in June. ‘Don’t go to an Apple store,’ Jobs told me. ‘It will be a madhouse there. People will be lined up around the block, sleeping on the sidewalk to get one. Go to an AT&T/Cingular store. Most people don’t know that they will be selling them too.’ Uh, they do now, Steve.”

[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Judge Bork” for the heads up.]
steve, i love ya and all man, but i don’t really think that is going to help…..
thanks for the hint and all.
that was so creepy…
a fully thought out, rational, comprehensable article on the huffington post…
who substituted the mentally ill schitzophrenic paranoid bulgarian man with the person that wrote this post?
Problem is, I’d rather stand in line for a few hours than have to deal with AT&T/Cingular sales people. Besides, all good Mac geeks have to make a pilgrimage to the holy cube at least once a year.
I got several Cingular (now the new AT&T! whoopie fscking doo!) Stores staked out.
They are located in the more poorer areas which would be less likely to have any money to buy a iPhone.
I have their phone numbers and I have cash.
Come rob me if you dare.
Arianna Huffington is hot!
sixth post!
I think Steve told everyone to go to AT&T because he wants to shift the madness away from Apple stores to AT&T stores.
HELLO
I AM TEXTING YOU THIS POST FROMA IPHONE THAT STEVEJOBS LEFT ON HIS DESK.
THE RELEASE DATE STILL HASNT BEEN DETERMINED SOMETHING ABOUT ROUGH SEAS OFF THE COAST OF CHINA.
GOODBYE I HEAR SOMEONE COMIN
Stoke up the fires of desire!
Sales of the iPhone have banned in the state of Texas.
It was determined that the motor used for its “vibrate” function was too powerful, and the shape of the iPhone too convinient that it would corrupt the young innocent girls of the lone star state.
The MS fanboys will be lining up at Verizon. 😀
Arriana Huffington is a train wreck !
</b>Time to sell the Blackberry on eBay.
I too am surprised this appeared at HuffPo. Where’s all the anti-semitism? Maybe the mods are working overtime.
@not serious
“… it would corrupt the young innocent girls of the lone star state.“
From what I saw traveling through Texas, I’d say it’s far too late to worry about that.

The doubters are bitching about how expensive the iPhone is going to be. How about this thing?

The Cingular/AT&T store near me, had over 100 people on the waiting list as of over a week ago.
It won’t be easy to get them there either, and you certainly will NOT get one on launch day if you’re not already on the list.
I doubt anyone will get one on launch day anywhere if they are not already on a wait list.
LorD 1776, not to nit pick you too much, but that phone does have a GPS, and a 5MP camera (vs no GPS and 2MP camera).
Oh, and HSDPA (3.5G) vs EDGE (2.5G) for data.
It’s not exactly an Apples to Apples comparison.
Umm … haters: it says right up at the top of the page that Arianna Huffington wrote the piece. I don’t think any HP “mods” change her copy too much.
Sheesh.
I just picked up a sales guy’s card at my nearby T&T store. Guy told me that they work commission so I should call him mid-June so he can call me ASAP he gets some info on delivery.
