RUMOR: MacBook Pro update with LED backlight tech due in June; MacBooks due in Q3

Apple Store“Apple placed an initial order for 15.4-inch LED backlight displays last month, targeting a June announcement that would make availability of a new laptop on or within days of Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ Worldwide Developers Conference keynote on June 11,” Think Secret reports.

“Apple’s order for the displays called on a delivery schedule of mid May, sources say. Based on Apple’s standard schedule that is has used in the past, it would allow for a three to four week window to manufacture and ship. That would coincide with Jobs’ keynote address on Monday, June 11th in San Francisco where Apple is likely to announce a new MacBook Pro using a LED backlight display,” Think Secret reports.

As for MacBooks with 13.3.-inch LED backlight, Think Secret reports that Apple is “targeting a third-quarter rollout of the low-end laptop.”

  1. Yeah, is there any reason to continue linking to thinksecret? This site is washed up. Nothing they post is ever correct. They said Leopard confirmed to come in June 1 day before apple announced it was due in October. Then they say 6G iPod today:? I don’t see one. This is just a site looking for clicks

  2. Yummy, I’ve had some money burning a whole in my account for the iPhone, looks like I need just a little bit more for two more laptops around that time for my business. To say that my MDD 800 is a tad sluggish, would be an understatement and a half.

  3. Please stop syndicating this ThinkSecret bullshit. Sorry, there is just no better word. This site is full of shit. All they are doing is mixing DigiTimes report with AppleInsider’s reports to try and make it look like they have a source.

  4. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. MacDailyNews linking to another dried up rumor site with nothing but fabricated news. Even MacRumors posted yesterday that ThinkSecret news is fabricated. See page two.

  5. @lusterPro “Even MacRumors posted yesterday that ThinkSecret news is fabricated.”

So one rumors site criticizing another rumors site and you believe the first rumors site!
    LOL!
Are You guys are all brain dead???

  6. GUYS… who CARES which site is making shit up or not?

As far as Apple is concerned they want us to know NOTHING about what is or isn’t in the pipeline, so they’ve got ALL the mouse-holes plugged. They want us ALL to be surprised at thei WWDC announcements and they get their ejaculation of free press.

We’re not talking Microsoft who pre-announce when Ballmer is going to take his next CRAP if it helped them stymie competition. Like the upcoming Zune update? LMFAO!

Apple seems to have every mouse hole plugged rumor-wise, so we’re stuck with trickles of info from ANYwhere.

But really gang, lighten up! It’s FUN to speculate and postulate about possible Mac releases. i don’t really care where the rumors come from, it’s all fuel for fantasy.
