Apple has notified developers via email that WWDC07 (June 11-15, San Francisco) early registration has been extended to May 11. “Register now for WWDC 2007 and save $300 on the full admission price.”
For additional incentive, Apple dangles Mac OS X Leopard:
See the future. Then take it home with you.
The Leopard beta. Available first at WWDC.
At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, we’re planning to show you a feature-complete version of Mac OS X Leopard, and you can take home a beta copy. Be the first to get your hands on the Leopard beta and get a huge head start on development. Register now for WWDC 2007—it’s your ticket to the future of Mac OS X.
Register by May 11 and save $300.

At $1300 a ticket, after the discount, I’m not surprised Apple has had to provide an incentive and extend the registration period!
skip Beta.
No thanks, I’ll stick with the market-leading Vista…..
…NOT!
It’s true, I received it twice… I wish I could go…
Expect to see the Microsoft OS group there as they plan for the next version of Windows ala Jim Allchin and the boys re the OSX Tiger demo and analysis.
PDF of MS emails re “WOW” Tiger exchange/envy…

There’s a lot of people that would pay that just to get to see the Keynote live!
I can’t wait to hear what the “Top Secret” features!!
I’m not surprised Apple has had to provide an incentive and extend the registration period!

Yea, those Keynotes are always so empty. Apple really has to work hard to get people to attend. Surely no software developer can afford $1300..
Apple has always provided Betas/latest release of their upcoming OS as the 1st thing you get at the Keynote. This is a non-event…
Extending the deadline, however, is cool….
Anyway, I get to go back after a 5 year hiatus. Last time I went it was in San Jose – this is WAY better…
MacCanuck ,
AMAZING DOCUMENT!!!
Thanks for posting the link.
Microsoft does what they always do, lurk and copy, wait till Apple does something, then copy.
What a disgrace as a tech company.
Apple has no where the R&D as MicroCRAP and still blow them away in the area of ideas.
Apple till the end…
I thought the headline said, “dangle free.”
As long as it’s dongle-free.
A beta is a beta is a beta. Thanks, but no thanks. Every ADC member gets a GM any which way, sooner or later.
The theme from “2001: A Space Odyssey” started going through my head when I saw that WWDC graphic. The X reminds me of the black alien monolith.
Cue “Also sprach Zarathustra”.
Apple till the End…
Yes, many of the MS emails released thru the recent Iowa anti-trust trial were quite revealing and embarrassing to Microsoft.
Here’s a link to the Allchin “I’d buy a Mac” statement…

They were all widely available during the trial at the public site…
http://www.iowaconsumercase.org/
but by some strange coincidence, it became a locked site AFTER MS decided to settle the case.
MS trying to hide/bury the damning evidence?
…
Already signed up for WWDC…
So we’ll have Leopard Beta. I’m still hoping they’ll announce third-party developer support via DashCode and they’ll give out free iPhones… ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />
Developers get to write off the ticket price as a business expense. So such advantage for me. I’ll wait until Leopard costs just $125.
I hope Leopard really blows us away or all that posturing in the “Get a Mac” commercials will be for naught.

Bill, we really need to get our hands on those beta copies of Leopard ASAP otherwise Vista SP1(aka XP SP4) will be delayed. The copy machines are primed and ready to go.
It’s going to be more difficult to lie our way out of this one. The stupid sheep are becoming smarter each day.
By the way, we need to increase my budget for chairs this year
