Apple today debuted three new “Get a Mac” ads on their website (not the ad we featured earlier today, which we are calling “Drivers,” which has not yet made its appearance on Apple’s website.)
Two of the three new ads take dead aim at Microsoft’s Windows Vista and the third features an Apple Retail Store “Mac Genius.”
Apple “Get a Mac” Ad: Choose a Vista:
Apple “Get a Mac” Ad: Party is Over:
Apple “Get a Mac” Ad: Genius:
Higher qualities and larger sizes available via Apple here: http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/

MacDailyNews Take:
Smell the Mac desperation. Vista installed base already exceeds Apple’s entire installed base.
Such a different approach from a few years ago.
Sweet. Actually better than the latest ads..
That’s not funny.
Your potential. Our passion.
“Smell the Mac desperation. Vista installed base already exceeds Apple’s entire installed base.”
Ford sold more Mustangs last year than Ferrari has sold of any model for a decade.
What’s your point??
Reality,
The response to your comment is here:
By its very nature Wintel cannot be the best – SteveJack
BTW, Vista hasn’t exceeded Mac, yet, either (source: Net Applications).
Very nice..
I think they are cute!
Don’t forget, Reality, if installed base = true quality, McDonald’s makes the finest hamburger in the world.
The truth is Mickey D and MicroSloth have more in common than one might think, and that is . . . THEY”RE CHEAP AND ON EVERY CORNER.
Long live underestimating the taste (and needs) of us, the American public. Sell it cheap and we will come!
Even I know that Windows=Windows=Windows. Vista, 98, ME, it’s all the same. It’s the business model that “sold” Vista to the world. Just because it replaces something new doesn’t mean it’s better.
New diapers replace old. In such a case, change is good. But, in the end (no pun intended), it’s still a diaper– fancy velcro or pin. It’s smelly. Low tech. Useful to a degree. And not the sort of thing you’d give as a gift, unless of course, you have issues.
Hey Reality, maybe that’s what you smell. Wanna’ gift? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”cheese” style=”border:0;” />
Reality,
And now for some actual reality:
Operating System Market Share for April 2007:
Mac OS- 6.21%
Windows Vista – 3.02%
Via: Net Applications
Don’t worry. Even though the piece of shit isn’t yet even halfway to Mac, there are more than enough mouth-breathers to take it to #1 soon enough. Ahh, the pride you must feel.
“Ford sold more Mustangs last year than Ferrari has sold of any model for a decade.”
That would have some relevance if the Mac were a Ferrari like machine. A better analogy is that the Mac is a Chevy Camaro and the Windows machine a Ford Mustang.
FANTASTIC ADS!!! The “Choose A Vista” ad may be the best one yet!! (Funny, there’s a Ford advertisement on this page.)
“Operating System Market Share for April 2007:
Mac OS- 6.21%
Windows Vista – 3.02%”
Net applications is not know for their accuracy.
But even using you statistics, Vista has already exceeded in a few months all Intel Macs ever sold, and is edging up on all PowerPC Macs ever sold.
As I said, desperation.
Customer to a Genius: “What’s the biggest pain in the ass in the whole Apple Store?”
Mac Genius: “That’s easy! Senior Assistant Store Managers!”
Reality must have a lot of time on his hands to come trolling in Mac boards.. hmm.. note I’m not trolling in Windows boards..
Vista installed base already exceeds Apple’s entire installed base.
That’s okay. Mac users are more likely to have actually made a conscious, informed choice of operating system.
“actually made a conscious, informed choice of operating system.”
Clearly not, since all the smart money goes with Windows. A conscious choice maybe. Informed – unlikely.
Quote Reality: “A better analogy is that the Mac is a Chevy Camaro and the Windows machine a Ford Mustang.”
A better analogy is that Vista is a Pinto and Mac is a BMW!
@Reality –
Nothing you say changes the fact that Vista is a POS.
Deny or Allow?
“A better analogy is that Vista is a Pinto and Mac is a BMW!”
Yes, because Pintos and BMWs contain exactly the same internal components – Not.
PCs and Macs are so similar that the Camaro/Mustang analogy holds.
++++
+++++
Macs are a Lexus and PCs are a Pontiac
++++
“Macs are a Lexus and PCs are a Pontiac “
A Lexus is just a prettied up Toyota and a Pontiac is just another GM car like a Chevy. Good Analogy.
These are some of the funnier ones. Notice, though, I’m pretty sure in the beginning of “Party’s Over” Mac’s voice is changed to someone else’s.
That would have some relevance if the Mac were a Ferrari like machine. A better analogy is that the Mac is a Chevy Camaro and the Windows machine a Ford Mustang.
Look, I can pull analogies out of my ass too!
Mac is like a … worm, and Vista is, uh, an antelope. YEAH, so, uh, VISTA ROX!
