Best Buy: Apple TV available in all 822 U.S. stores starting Tuesday

Apple Store“Best Buy said today that the just-released Apple TV will be available in all 822 of its U.S. stores starting Tuesday [March 27]. That’s two weeks ahead of all other retailers that are not named the Apple Store,” Erica Ogg blogs for CNET.

Ogg reports, “Granted, the set-top box will be available in limited supply at first. The initial shipment will be 3,000 units, which spread across more than 800 stores means there will be about five Apple TVs available at each store for the MSRP of $299.”

  1. You know what’s going to hook people into the Apple TV?

    The interface.

Yep. It’s just gonna remind everyone of the iPod method and they’re gonna buy one just because of that alone.

Like having an iPod that displays, plays, and manages EVERYTHING.

[Trump] “It’s gonna be HUGE, Conan. HUGE! [/Trump]

  2. Best Buy sales guy 1: “Uh, which is the macmini and which is the AppleTV?”.
Best Buy sales guy 2: “Idiot – the Apple TV is over in the television dept. next to the Hitachis, Sharps and Sonys! Where else would a TV be?”
Best Buy sales guy 3: “So is the AppleTV an LCD or Plasma?”

  3. If you want “Breast Buy” you can have it — just keep heading downtown. You’ll find all the uhm “retailers” that you could ever want. Bring your cash, though. They don’t accept American Express (or Visa, for that matter). Now the merchandise is used, but hey, what did you expect?

  4. Best Buy carried G4 MacMinis, briefly, in NC just after they came out. I asked an “associate” about it and he thought the thing was a backup drive. I explained it was a computer and he didn’t believe me.

    He’s probably in Politics now.

  5. Conan: “So, uhh, whaddaya think of Rosie these days, Donald?”

Trump: “She’s HUGE, Conan. And I mean HUGE! She’s gigantic. ENORMOUS!

I wouldn’t let Ivanka anywhere near her — she’d probably swallow her whole!

    Oh, and she’s a pig.

Rosie. Not Ivanka. Ivanka’s my daughter. And she’s HOT!! I’d date her if she wasn’t my daughter, Conan.

But she is my daughter, so that’s out.

But Rosie’s still a pig. Believe it.”

  6. Speaking of Zune displays, my local Staples just took down the end-of-aisle Zune display today. Virtually none of the Zune accessories on display seem to have moved, they were lined up so neatly. What a boondoggle!
