From their bluesy beginnings on This Was to the mature prog-rock of Roots to Branches, Apple has announced the addition of Jethro Tull’s complete Chrysalis music catalog to the iTunes Store.
Visit Jethro Tull via Apple’s iTunes Store here.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Carroll W.” for the heads up.]
MacDailyNews Note: Jethro Tull was one of the more notable iTunes Store holdouts.
Righteous. I saw Jethro Tull live with Led Zeppelin as the headliner here in San Diego. Jethro Tull blew Led Zeppelin away.
mw: all as in one of the greatest concerts of all time.
TowerTone,
In reference to Bela,
Wait till you hear the newest from the Jerry Douglas Band.
It’s not out yet. You should be familiar with the name.
I saw them in concert a month or so ago and was blown away.
I’ve been told that they are working on a new release.
I hope the new release matches the concert experience.
it’s not the complete chrysalis catalog…
no “a passion play”
unfortunately
Locomotive Breath. my favourite
chrysalis,
pink 8 track’s.
remember those?
on the quad stereo?
oh yeah.
though i preferred headphones.
Metallica fans rejoice!
Saw the Tull perform at a small amphitheater in Rome once. Intimate crowd, tasty tunes, beautiful night, and Ian Anderson was as wacky and erudite as his music would lead you to believe.
I’ll tell you; there’s nothing like grooving in a foreign country to rock & roll, played live … on a flute.

No, I can’t recall that name, but the music on the web page sounded excellent.
Jim TIV-
The best Frampton concert I went to I couldn’t see….heard everything, but my eyelids were, like , tooooo heeeavy…….
baukunst-

CitizenX…
I went to that concert, and you’re right. Tull was awesome that night. I think I also saw them once with Mother’s Pie in the Sports Arena. Good times…….
TT-
When I saw Ron Burgandy (Will Farrell);
my son, and their freinds (then age 12), couldn’t understand why I was laughing so hard during the “tull” bit. My son wanted to know if he needed to call 911.
Jim,
Awesome concert. Standing right in front of the stage, feet from the artist.
It was a truly amazing experience.
CitizenX…
Took my older sister’s best friend, sitting WAY in the back, didn’t care.
It also was a truly amazing experience.
Always
I’m glad we can agree on comedy!
TT… I’ve been reading the posts from earlier in other threads….
you made a new enemy on the left recently? maybe that guy who wrote our names down and promised to check up on our stance on DRM?
Tull – a fundamentally great prog band.
Ian Anderson is truly a unique talent. Brilliant music lyrics, not to mention the ability to write in iambic pentameter.
As far as newer bands that are comparable, there will never be another Tull, but bands like Spock’s Beard and the Flower Kings keep the spirit of great Prog alive.
Jim-tiv
yeah, I noticed that ‘coincidence’, but honestly, he didn’t strike me as that type, although I am constantly surprised ‘open minded’ people.
And speaking getting high, I gotta do a little maintenance work in the morning at about 160′, so if y’all don’t hear from me anymore….
( I shouldn’t joke. A guy I knew died Saturday in Shreveport, LA. Did tower work for decades, and finally made that one mistake)
So anyhow, early to bed for me tonight.
TT-
Comedy, and music, (Apple, of course).
Gosh, I feel all kinder and gentler!
Martin Barre’s-
YES. (PUN INTENDED.)
Spock’s Beard. Tremendous talent. Unsung.
One of my bands (North Star) shared the bill with them at Nearfest 2000. (A variant of Spocks Beard, “TransAtlantic”).
Nice, humble, modest unassuming guys. Monster talent.
cool

Let’s not forget the Dixie Dregs. (actually, I did..)
I grew up with Tull, but grew into Bela Fleck. Forget the Flecktones – just sit him down with Rice and Jerry Douglas – and step way back.
Takes you back to the days when music was made by musicians rather than producers, no?
Another AMAZING talent.
Reminds me.
Mahavishna.
I still listen. Comstantly. (“Visions of the Emerald Beyond”).
Amazing talent, Dregs that is.
But Bela, to. Especially w/ Victer Wooten on Bass.
WOW, my two favorite subjects, bluegrass music and apple computers. what a great thread! Just the other day, someone posted the lyrics to Monroe’s Rocky Road Blues. What’s next, Apple outselling Dell?
mw big, as in BIG MON!
