Apple UK Store leaks 8-core Mac Pros

MacDailyNews reader Tom F. provides the image from the online Apple UK store that clearly states “Mac Pro. Now quad-core or 8-core processing power.”

Justin Berka for Ars Techinica writes, “We’ve heard about Mac Pros moving to the quad-core “Clovertown” Xeons for some time now, with dates for the release ranging anywhere from late 2006 to late 2007. It now appears that the new Xeons might be arriving sooner rather than later, based on some descriptions on the U.K. Apple site.”

“Unless Apple has somehow managed to pack 4 of the current Xeon processors into that shiny metal tower, this seems like a pretty good indication that Apple is getting ready to take us to Clovertown,” Berka writes.

  1. Apple Store is being updated now. When visited Apple UK store the message appeared as:
We will be back soon, We are busy updating the store for you and we’ll be back shortly.”
I guess they are cleaning the leak.
    Cheers!

  2. UKAPPLE STORE is merely a sub-site of the main APPLE site. Presumeably any of the national sub-site updates could have been incorrectly uploaded. ie. not necessarily the fault of Larry from London.

  3. Hey,

Sorry that was a friend of mine that was jealous I got the story up before he did. Lol. Sorry for that. What time did you get that story up actually? I only saw it around 5 eastern time. Did you see it anywhere before that?
