MagiCal is a free menu-based clock and calendar for your Mac OS X Menu Bar. It features a huge range of configuration options for how the time and date are displayed, and can operate in conjunction with, or as a replacement for built in system menu clock.
In addition to this, MagiCal features a handy drop-down calendar that can be torn off and placed anywhere on screen.

MagiCal isn’t bad. I do prefer MenuCalendarClock because it’s more refined. However, give MagiCal some time and I’m sure it will develop nicely.
Unfortunately, the makers of MenuCalendarClock have not updated the software in a while, and certainly not for OS X Lion. There’s currently an annoying bug that opens the calendar fly-out every time the user double-clicks with three fingers, which is Lion’s new shortcut for Dictionary definitions.
Very nice. Now I can turn off the inferior calender widget.
I’ve been using wClock, a similar program, for several years now. However it seems that the authors, WolfWare, have gone out of business. wClock was pre-Intels. so this will be interesting when I upgrade.

I’ve been using the MenuCalenderClock from Object park for a couple of years now, and I swear by it. Great iCal integration, pleasing aesthetic.

Not to put down this brand new product which looks great, but MenuCalendarClock is our program of choice, particularly since it interfaces with Entourage & iCal.
Downloaded the PPC version looks nice, it just replaced my original clock.
I just downloaded MagiCal and tried it. It’s definetely highly configurable as far as date and time formats go and I think it’s a nice program that many will like. I’m going to stick with Wclock (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13297). It too is free, you have much more control over font and color (I use Lucida Grande 14 in a (0, 0, 194) dark blue and it looks like it BELONGS on the menu bar. I think many will like it.
