Apple airs iPhone teaser ad during Oscars

Apple aired their teaser ad for the Apple iPhone during the Oscars tonight. The ad has run multiple times during the Oscars.

The advertisement started with a collection of scenes from television and film with actors saying “Hello” on a telephone. The scenes are played in rapid succession, and the iPhone appears on the screen. Then a black screen with the words: “Hello” … then … “Coming in June” and finally an Apple logo.

  1. Brilliant! The ad included some of my favorite stars like Lucille Ball and favorite films like “Back to the Future!”

  2. I agree, “iPhone” should have been in the ad. Also, the iPhone photo showing the touch screen buttons would have been more impressive, but I think Apple is more interested in mystery and effect than in clear communication. After all, it’s a teaser. It had to look totally different than anything anyone has seen before, and it did. Now please, Apple, bring us something about the Mac before I die of old age.

  3. They didn’t use the term iphone, because it will be renamed the phone by apple, or just apple phone, like apple tv. plus my wife says the lucy part was the best. this was all about marketing with cisco, apple has no plans or need to help them out.
