  1. The Academy can bite me, and then my eternal soul will take a break from guarding the sacred writings of the mighty Hubbard and failing to launch my own studio and fight with them when we die and I’ll have the last laugh. Er . . . I’ll catch the ads on Youtube. Poor people suck.

  2. The Oscars are for the brain-dead who have no lives of their own. Hollywood has people brainwashed into thinking that whatever these worthless hippies in show business do, somehow means something. They are all a bunch of whiny little pricks.

Other than that, I like them.

  3. iPhone secret revealed!

You will be able to hook a iPhone to a TV to watch a movie just like a video iPod.

iTunes Store on the iPhone is coming with updates to Cingular’s (now AT&T) slow network eventually.

So content could be downloaded directly to the iPhone, but this feature will be delayed upon further revisions along with better camera.

By the way the iPhone is flash memory based, no hard drive.

Smudges are a problem on the iPhones screen, finger caps are being developed to eliminate body oil transfer.

  4. It will probably be similar to the ad that was reported to be shown during Super Bowl…

If we are to know that there is really going to be an ad on any programme as major as an iPhone ad, then I am sure we will know from an ad agency leak as opposed to Macworld.

No sources were even hinted. (“Hint” a word from Shakespeare – interesting, hmmm).

I for one won’t hold my breath – and will be pleasantly surprised if there is one. Of course, I won’t see it here in Australia. So, I will YouTube it.

    and look for a reference here. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

Who would have known a little device would make such a big deal in the over-crowded market of the mobile phone industry? I mean besides Jobs and Co. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />

  5. If they do advertise during the awards then it will be a colossal waste of money (unless they are getting the time on the cheap). Not to say that no one watches this stupid show anymore but the not so dirty little secret is that this is mostly a Lefty Hollywood love fest rather than any attempt to name the best of anything. Wasn’t an Inconvenient Truth nominated for best science fiction show this year? Come on, there is a lot more believable scifi being produced these days, such as Ghost Rider.

  6. “hippies in show business…”
    “lefty Hollywood love fest”

You guys have been listening — and believing — way too much of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. The Hollywood studios are all run a handful of giant, international media comglomerates, all of which are traded on Wall Street and NONE of which is run by any “lefties.” Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch, and we all know where HE stands. NBC/Universal is owned by GE, one of the nation’s largest defense contractors. And no one has ever accused Viacom (Paramount, CBS) or Time Warner (Warner Bros, the CW) of reading from Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book.

These are all big companies devoted totally and religiously to the bottom line. If there are a few prominent liberal actors, writers and directors, the people who sign their checks don’t share their politics. And in addition to most of senior management, there are lots of actors, writers and directors on the other side, notably Joel Surnow (the creator of “24”) and Don Bellisario (“JAG”). George Clooney stands on one side of the political debate; Bruce Willis on the other.

As for the news operations of the four major networks, three are firmly stuck in the middle, with only Fox making its politics obvious. Even MSNBC, which is the latest target of vile, offers Glenn Beck, Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough (conservative Republicans all) to offset Keith Olbermann.

If you don’t like the Oscars, fine, don’t watch. It’s a fairly boring show. Then again, so are ALL award shows. But don’t believe the “leftist” hype about Hollywood. Most of the people in this biz are known as “below the line” types, working stiffs who don’t make a lot of money, don’t ever get on camera, and spend more time with duct tape than on the red carpet. So if you’re worried that a few actors are too liberal for you, take comfort in the fact the producers, crew and studio bosses are likely evenly divided… just like the rest of the country.

  7. Yea, Thank God the crew has half a brain to not believe in that waco leftist shit.

Liberalism is a mental disorder! Anti-American loonies. If the USA was as waco liberal in WWII we would be ALL be speaking German now. And soon the waco liberals will have us speaking Arabic when the Muslims get us. Just look at England and France with the sllllowwww take over of the Muslim community

  8. The Oscars? Apple would have had a greater audience during the Super Bowl, as was predicted earlier and never happened. Why would Apple choose a smaller audience? Also what is Apple’s advantage to advertise a “known” whose final product specs and prices are probably still not set?

  9. Steve, you seem to be a genius. Deep thinker.
Have you ever tried Oxycontin? (Although, codeine does in a pinch).

    Also- see your Doctor. Soon.
    Inquire about “paranoia”.

(Wait. Did you just hear that? What? That? Yes.)

    See?

    MW-“showed”.

I guess you dun showed me, eh Steverino?
    Wheeee!

(They’re coming to get you. Soon, we’ll be fighting the Sunni & Shiite here.)

  10. MikeK: “… of the four major networks, three are firmly stuck in the middle, with only Fox making its politics obvious.”

Are you kidding me? 90% of “mainstream” broadcast journalists vote democratic. This is a fact. Repeated pole have been taken which bear this out. Someone who is right leaning might well say that Fox is in the middle because that person agrees with much of what is on Fox. Your assertion that the other 3 main networks and in the middle only indicates to other readers that your politics are in line with theirs. You, of course, being the center of the universe would see them that way. But that doesn’t make it true. Don’t kid yourself about the major networks. Know thyself first before you judge.

Back on topic, I’ll pass on the Oscars and be waiting for the YouTube version myself.

  11. JWSC, Know thyself first before you judge.

Hmm. I’m sensing an evangelical right winger. So watch the FoxSpews and they will be there for you to tell you when and where to act.

If you really think FoxNews is anything left of rightwing wackos. You are truly misguided. But that seems obvious.

Just curious where are your facts, links, that say 90% of journalists vote democratic? And even if they do, that means they *think*, rather than be ditto heads that are in lock step with others.

    Another pathetic Fox pawn.
