WSJ: Apple to add movies from Paramount Pictures to iTunes Store

“Apple Computer Inc.’s iTunes movie service is set to bulk up with the addition of catalog movie titles owned by Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures,” Merissa Marr reports for The Wall Street Journal.

Marr reports, “In a deal that Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs could announce as early as Tuesday at his Macworld conference, Apple plans to start selling Paramount titles on its iTunes service, according to people familiar with the situation.”

Marr reports, “For the moment, the deal will only cover Paramount’s back catalog, the people said. Paramount’s catalog includes titles such as ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘Mission: Impossible’ and ‘The Truman Show'” which will be sold for $9.99 each, according to the report.
