“Apple’s iTunes Store is offering the audiobook version of John Hodgman’s The Areas of My Expertise for free through Christmas. The audiobook normally sells for $18.95. Hodgman plays the ‘PC’ in Apple’s current ‘Get a Mac’ TV ad campaign,” LC Angell reports for iLounge.

I think i’ll take the usual shortcut and watch the movie instead!
ooooh! This was on BoingBoing yesterday.
This= Thank You For A Job Well Done to Hodgman. Methinks that sales are doing quite well! WWDC here we come!
Aww, not available in the UK store 🙁
Only in America?
Pity.
Too right, Dakaix. No TV shows in the UK either. Wake up, Apple!
Crap…not in the Canadian store. What gives? Didn’t you guys ever hear of the North American Free Trade Agreement??? Wht was the point of that?
SuXoR Not available in Aussie or NZ – US only
MW: room – surely there’s enough!!
Thanks, Sleeve. I think I’ll go back in time to yesterday to view it there before I find out about it here the next day.
You were so helpful!
You know, every time I follow a link to the iTunes Store which reports to me that the linked item is not available in Canada .. I respond by immediately closing iTunes and then leaving it closed for a week or two.
Sweet. But I’d rather Apple was subsidizing Steve Wozniak’s “iWoz: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Along the Way” (It’s $15.95, btw.)
Funny how you can’t help but like he PC better in those commercials.
@gwm
I believe that’s called “cutting off your nose to spite your face”. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
LOL
Mw = off
(repeat above post)
Don’t be upset if you can’t get it, I deleted it after the first hour. Thankfully it was free. Apple made a good decision in not letting have more than 30 seconds of air time.
Ipso, I agree, it is a bit long winded, I’m at the half hour mark and I’m having trouble paying attention. Maybe it gets better and he actually says something. I’ll let you know..
its really funny, very abstract humor. I think its a shame its not available to international itunes stores because it maybe be more funny to europeans etc.
The audiobook is awesome but you have to like very dry, sarcastic humor. It is very much like Dennis Miller stuff with details of minutia. He is a really good writer. Only a few parts are boring but most of the stuff is great. Go check it out.
Wrong Moxy .. you can call it anything you want, but it has nothing at all to do with noses or faces. Not even metaphorically.
It is what I said it was. It’s cutting off iTunes and every artist that’s in it. You think Apple gives a crap if I do that? I don’t .. but the artists and record companies might care. Anyway, that’s what I do and that’s why I posted it. Mock it all you want .. I’m gonna keep doing it anyway. heh.
Scheiße!
not available in Germany.
Why does Apple treat non-US citizens ( and US citizens living abroad ) as second-class?
<i>… awesome but you have to like very dry, sarcastic humor.<>
Then it isn’t humor. Humor is jokes about one particular body opening. Now, that is funny.
Is the US store the only one with video purchases available? There arent any on the Irish store anyway as far as I know.
Screw iTunes. I don’t ignore it for two weeks. I ignore it, period.
It isn’t illegal here to download music, so I download music. Save me the arguments that I could be downloading viruses; I have a Mac. Save me that arguments the bit rate might suck; I’d download another one. Save me the arguments I’m stealing. I’m not.
Unlike everyone who isn’t in Canada, I live in a free country. Deal with it.
fuck canada.
