“I’m a Mac” actor Justin Long will appear in at least one more batch of Apple’s “Get a Mac” ads before his deal with Apple runs out.
“According to his agent, David Guillod, Long is in the midst of shooting Mac’s holiday campaign with Hodgman and Morrison,” Radar Online reports.
Shoots took place last Monday and Tuesday, and more are planned for this week, according to the report.

Good for him. He knows where the money is.
i think Justin looks a little grimy and smug, veering in the direction of the now-obsolete “dude, you’re getting a Dell” direction
Well I think he’s cute as a bug!
odd. I kinda like the Justin Long character. don’t find him smug at all. I think there’s a couple where he walks a closer line than others, but for the most part I think he represents mac users nicely.
don’t get me wrong – we don’t all look or think just like him. but there’s a casualness he portrays that kinda works for me and is representative of a lot of mac users I know.
The rumours of Justin Long’s demise as “Apple guy” in the Apple Get A Mac ads are WRONG according to Justin Long:
This just in (from Justin Log himself [a href=”http://www.justinlong.net/”]on his official web site[/URL]), he states in a post today entitled “Just To Clarify” under the “Talkin ’bout Justin Long” forum section. Justin is quoted as saying:
“as for the mac commercials, i don’t know where that report came from that said i wasn’t going to do anymore – i literally setting my alarm right now to wake up for a mac shoot tomorrow – if i’m not doing anymore i guess i can sleep in on my day off – that’d be nice. but yeah, we’re doing some holiday spots now which i think will be pretty funny – not nearly funny enough to justifiy the money they’re paying me though, i’ll be honest with you. as for the future, i really don’t know what i’m going to do – i’m surprised, frankly, that the campaign hasn’t become tired and they’ve just ended it on their own – but i try to live as much in the present as i can considering the future doesn’t exist, i’m not really sure. they’re easy to do, i love john (the pc guy) and working with him is so effortless and fun that i definitely wouldn’t rule out doing some more – and, as i said, they pay us nicely.”

URL got garbled. Justin Long’s web site – Check out his message under “Forums” abot him not leaving doing Mac ads.
COOL! A MDN article that IS NOT about Zune!
He comes across as a wiseass. The PC guy nieve. Get a new guy without the attitude and cut the bullshit.
whatever, Dion, maybe you are just so SENSITIVE. He’s a regular person, speaking honestly. I respect that.
Justin did a great job in the ads. I liked all of them.
I’ve got a lot of PC friends (well, all of them since I don’t know anyone who uses a Mac outside of work) and they all love the Mac ads. I like them too. They wouldn’t be the same without Justin.
Agree with cjt and most of the other comments here. I thought Justin did a nice job in the ads. Glad he will be in a few more ads.
Peace.
Justin Long Daily News?
My favorite schticks are: When he reassuringly chides Hodgman by saying “PC…” (in the one where he “was just in a meeting”); when he slaps the P.C.s box flaps and then hops away like a frog (in the one where they’re unpacking themselves) and the conversation with the “camera” in Japanese.
I love that the Mac’s peripherals and output files are played by pretty girls (including a supermodel). It sends a nice subliminal message.
These ads are obviously based on stereotypes. To criticize Justin Long or his character in these tv spots is to miss the point entirely. Personally, I love that Apple is confident enough to portray itself as a slightly scruffy slacker dude, which clearly parodies the image that many of the unwashed masses have of Apple Computer. It is also interesting how many people have called the Mac character “arrogant” when, in reality, he’s really very laid back and sympathetic to the PC’s problems. Since when is highlighting the shortcomings of your competitor’s products considered “arrogance.” I thought it was called advertising!
“alansky”, a perfectly spot-on analysis!
