  1. iPhoto + Pro = Aperture
Garageband + Pro = Logic Pro
iMovie + Pro = Final Cut
iDVD + Pro = DVD Studio Pro

I’d like to see a Pro version of iWeb so more complex web pages functions can be created. Perhaps Apple’s talks with Google will create something “Pro””.

People stuck in the Windows herd don’t have a clue about the extraordinary Apple applications that go far beyond the iLife aps.

Ya, there may be more Windows aps out there, but who needs a pile of junk when you can have a diamond necklace?

  2. @ UK Jim,

Comparing this to MS updates is a non-starter. Installing Apple updates in my experience is a dream, and I have no experience other than to say that Apple software improves on itself every time and more often than not speeds things up too. Yes of course it is more complex – just look at the amazing interactivity of the iLife products. Just the media browser alone is fantastic. If you call that bloat – then bring it on. And Aperture is now fully part of iLife…

Now Microsoft software IS bloatware that delivers myriads of things FOR ITSELF, and bugger all for the user…

  3. I wonder what Apple’s plans are for an app like Keynote. I mean…will it ever get any updates at all – or was it just meant to please Steve? There are too many things missing in Keynote to list here – and that’s really sad because it’s truly promising.

Very funny! Not quite ROFL or even LOL, but funny. Still, the two are quite different products. Sure, iWeb is aimed at the “personal” market while RW is aimed at the “entry-level web-master” market, but the differences go much deeper. RW is much more conservative, and flexible, and powerful, and produces cleaner/faster code, and offers no “glitz” features while iWeb is all about the glitz. If you want a Pro version of iWeb you need both – the iWeb to provide the Web2.0-style images and RW to build a well-designed web site where those images can live. But … I need GarageBand and iMovie so I essentially get a “free” copy of iWeb in the process – I’m good with that.
