“Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update will represent the eighth such maintenance release issued to users of Tiger”
Wow, who would have thought that 10.4.”8″ would have been eighth release??
I hope the 10.4.8 update fixes whatever the 10.4.7 update screwed up. Ever since upgrading to 10.4.7 my PowerBook is SLOW. Seems like something keeps eating up memory, too.
I just want to be able to use iChat video on my MBP again! Ever since ‘upgrading’ to 10.4.7 it’s been crippled.
I have the same experience with my Powerbook, But it could just be that its getting old ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
Way to go Buster! Sweet!!
Wrong Again: The article says “the eight MAINTENENCE release” which it just so happens to be.
I hope they fix whatever they did to the Intel webkit build (with the last general security fix). It’s bad when Safari crashes visiting the Apple Support site.
Bloat is coming, just like in iTunes 7.
Forcing PowerMac G5 Duallies to upgrade to the Dual Quad Mac Pro’s coming very very shortly.
Are you ready to pay through the nose?
8 cores should keep the upgrade cycle monster away for several years.
Until the 80 core Mac Pro comes out in 2011 that is. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />
I’ve been first poster a few times, and after everyone at work found out, my boss has promoted me TWICE, and the WOMEN, jeez, I can’t keep them out of my office!!!
Really , Jay? My boss FIRED me TWICE and the women….let me tell you….I can’t get ’em NEAR my office.
I’ve had no problems with 10.4.7 on a G5 and an Intel iMac. I use them both heavily as well. Am I lucky? I repair permissions before and after an update. Run Onyx every week ro so. Backup everything every other night. No problems whatsoever.
BTW, as far as the iChat problem goes, make sure the font Helvetica Neue (Truetype) is activated. iChat won’t work without it.
m
Jay, you are fired.
Hopefully, they will also fix iChat so video and audio work again…
Well, Jay and InDespair,
Just be glad it doesn’t make it so your boss can’t keep his hands off you!
If you feet smell, and your nose runs, you’re built upside down!
Dude
I’m afraid to buy any new Apple Mac. More than ever, if I just hold out a little longer, better stuff is just around the corner. What a delimma!
I’m just waiting for a safari build that isn’t slow as s**t.
. . . FTFF?
And I want proper, recordable AppleScripting for Finder macros! Like there was in 8.6, for diety’s sake!
Buncha hosers.
