Intel’s new ‘Multiply’ ads made with Apple Macs

Intel has debuted a new television ad, “Multiply,” and also posted a behind-the-scenes video about the making of their new ad campaign which showcases Apple Mac hardware and Apple software being used to create Intel’s new effects-laden ad campaign.

Rich in imagery and brilliant in effects, these commercial films multiply the power of video technology. – Intel

Find out how Intel created their new advertising campaign “Multiply” in the video here.

  1. “Note: videos are .asx which may require Flip4Mac’s Windows Media Components for QuickTime. More info and link for free download”

I know WMP is no longer in development for the Macintosh but I’ve still yet to see a WMP file that won’t play using the old player. Anyone have a link to a video that won’t work with WMP and requires Flip4Mac to play?

  2. Ugh. Just watched the making of. I used to work for the Agency guy. Major douchebag.

Meanwhile, the ads are pretty weak (but so are the iPod ads and these are similar) and if I’m not mistaken (and I sometimes am) there are no production Macs with Core 2 Duo are there? So these must have been made with a regular Core Duo?

  3. I don’t think this is that big of a deal. Most likely the ad agency that Intel hired to do the video uses Macs anyway, so it’s not like Intel themselves sat down bought a bunch of Macs and whipped these ads out.

I do think it’s interesting that the content of the ad is more Apple-like.

  4. Intel may have given the OK for the making of ad, as well as the real ad, but they did not make it (film, edit, etc) The video company uses macs, and they happen to be intel powered ones, that the only reason you can see them in the video, not because intel said throw sum macs in there.

  5. Check out Visual Hub for video conversions, it’s extremely easy and also does WMV3 very well.

Sure it costs a small amount, but it also joins video, uses X-Grid to use other Mac processors over a network and other niceties.

Set up a bunch of conversions and let it rip for days on end.

  6. bob, stop whining and go download the free Flip4Mac. It works flawlessly to play that Intel .asx video. I do prefer Quicktime movies though, particularly H.264, just because the video quality seems better and the download seems faster. But, like Nick, I just don’t worry about it anymore. Like he said, “they ‘just work.'”

MDN Magic Word: music. Flip4Mac is music to my eyes.
