FileMaker launches online resources and K-12 advocacy program

FileMaker, Inc. announced today two new resources designed to improve school productivity and performance for K-12 administrators, teachers and technology coordinators. The FileMaker School is an online resource that showcases many innovative examples of how actual schools are using FileMaker Pro solutions that impact school operations, student performance and professional development.

Another new resource for education leaders is the FileMaker K-12 Advocates program, which provides avid FileMaker K-12 users with a live online forum available 24/7 for networking with colleagues and helping advance best solution practices within the K-12 field. The FileMaker School and the FileMaker K-12 Advocates program are both featured at http://www.filemaker.com/solutions/k12

“FileMaker already helps more than 10,000 K-12 schools collect, manage and report on student and administrative data,” said Ryan Rosenberg, vice president of marketing and services, FileMaker, Inc., in the press release “By profiling the innovative ways schools use FileMaker Pro in their data-driven decisions, we plan to advance the ways technology can help schools maximize the core capabilities of their administrators, faculty and students.”

The FileMaker School is an online resource that profiles how specific schools are using FileMaker solutions to support a variety of academic and administrative processes. The solutions, developed both by schools and by independent K-12 solutions developers, are grouped into six major categories:
• Student Information
• Teacher Desktop
• Curriculum Management
• Personnel and Professional Development
• School Operations
• Special Education

The FileMaker K-12 Advocates program is open to experienced FileMaker users working as teachers, technology coordinators or administrators in K-12 schools and district offices. FileMaker Advocates share their successful experiences with colleagues and other educators.

FileMaker K-12 Advocates will be among the first to receive new education-related materials from FileMaker and have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:
• Demonstrate FileMaker solutions at educator conferences and events.
• Join online discussions on FileMaker K-12 related topics.
• Lead or participate in a presentation or training event at an educator conference.
• Participate in FileMaker web seminars or focus groups.
• Highlight the successful use of FileMaker Pro in their school or district in a solution story.
