  1. From ‘Useless’: No-one will buy these; people want laptops”.

I totally disagree – I choose a Mac Mini alongside an Apple Cinema display because I didn’t want the integrated computer/monitor offering of the iMac.

In the absence of a ‘midi’ Mac tower I’ll continue to favour a Mini over an iMac – or laptop, for that matter.

  2. Lets hope these release today dont mean that on Sept 12th Steve is only going to talk about a movie service from itunes. That launch is definetly not enough. They had to release this stuff today and get it out of the way either because there is way more cool stuff to go over on Sept 12th or Steve is really sick and cant stay up there and talk about more then a new iTMS…..lets all hope for tons of new products.!!

  3. They might have decided to release this early due to all the (correct) speculation, allowing the event to be focussed on the bigger news rather than product updates and larger versions of existing products.

Downloadable movies and either new iPods or new under-TV based gadget are the most likely contenders for the Sept 12th announcement. The product announcements today can only add to the excitement of what is coming on the 12th.
