“There’s only one week left until Apple’s WWDC and the rumors are already flooding in about what’s going to be released,” Jason Chen reports for Gizmodo. “Robert Scoble, former Microsoft blogger, throws out this very interesting nugget on his blog:”
Speaking of Apple, they are readying a dizzying amount of new products. I wish I could camp out at an Apple store during the World Wide Developer Conference on August 7th. I wish I could say more, but that’d get me sued by Steve Jobs and I don’t need that kind of heck right now.

Who is this Scoble guy and why should we believe him?
“Dizzying amount of new products’ coming at WWDC”
I’d better sit down then.
Re: Scoble (from wiki) –
“Robert Scoble joined Microsoft in 2002. Scoble was part of the Channel9 MSDN Video team, where he produced videos that showcased Microsoft employees and products.
Although Scoble often promoted Microsoft products like Tablet PCs and Windows Vista, he also frequently criticized his own employer and praised its competitors (such as Apple Computer and Google). However, some argue that the modest measure of criticism leveled at Microsoft and praise toward competitors serves only to give his Microsoft evangelism credibility. He was unusual in the level of access he offered to his users, which included publishing his cell phone number on his blog and urging people to contact him directly with issues, as well as accepting comments on his blog.
The Economist described Robert Scoble’s influence in its February 15, 2005 edition:
He has become a minor celebrity among geeks worldwide, who read his blog religiously. Impressively, he has also succeeded where small armies of more conventional public-relations types have been failing abjectly for years: he has made Microsoft, with its history of monopolistic bullying, appear marginally but noticeably less evil to the outside world, and especially to the independent software developers that are his core audience.
On June 10, 2006 Scoble announced he was leaving Microsoft to join Podtech.net as vice president of media development. June 28 was his last day at MS.
Cubert-
He may be full of it, but supposedly his brother works for Apple.
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted any product more than an iPhone.
The suspense is unbearable.
A “dizzing amount”? I doubt it. I don’t think there has ever been a conference with a large amount of product announcements. Apple seems always to release products in measured ways not wanting one product to steal thunder from another. It’s obvious that the Mac Pro’s are coming and along with Leopard will form the major announcement. I can’t seem them coming out with a major release like a phone, which would be a significant release, or a media player, or anything like that during this show. They would have a seperate announcemnet for those types of things. So, maybe a software announcement or some updates to exisiting hardare (built in iSight cinema displays please) would be possible but not much more than that.
It will last two hours and over an hour of the keynote will be devoted to a demo of Leopard. Not much time for things like an iPhone or movie downloads, or a PRV mini, ect. This happens every conference, rumors abound for everything under the sun and Apple actually announces two or three things and everybody is dissappointed.

“shed” hyperlinks to friggin’ plastic storage sheds !?!<WTF>!?!
What’s the point?
iPhone? “No-touch” iPod? iTunes Movies? A real media Mac for the living room? A new Pippin? A new Newton?
Am I missing anything?

He MEANT “a dizzying NUMBER of new products.”
Sure hope he’s right, for Mac Realist, Stock Boy, and their ilk DESERVE to be bitch slapped with a further run-up of AAPL!
Apple’s legal efforts obviously have worked. Have you ever seen it so quiet this close to a major Keynote?
this is bullsh*t. mac pro, leopard, that’s it. why would jobs throw in a “one-more-thing” of an ipod or iphone or whatever at their freaking developer’s conference? have they ever done that before? no!!
I’m still waiting for, at least a rumour of, an Apple branded projector, sold for less than 1,000 bucks. Imagine one built into an MBP, combined with Keynote, it’d be so very sweet.
Is APPL heading for 70.00+ today? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
@ Cubert:
“Who is this Scoble guy…?”
Rooby Doooooo!
A “scoble” is unit of measure determined on-the-fly based on the opinions and conviction of the measurer. For example, Vista could be measured as 100 scobles or only 10 scobles. It depends entirely on mood, time of day, sobriety level, and repercussions.
Re: Charles
“It used to be that WWDC was not a place for hardware announcements, but Apple deviated from that principle in 2002 when it announced the rack mounted server Xserve, in 2003 with the introduction of the consumer-oriented iSight and the Power Mac G5, and in 2005, when an announcement was made that Apple Computer would start the transition of their computers from IBM’s PowerPC microprocessor line to Intel’s line of x86 processors.”
from wikipedia in the WWDC entry.
A projector built into a MBP is an interesting idea. Form factor, power requirements and weight would probably make this idea difficult to mass produce.
So let’s see… for Leopard we have heard:

“Impressive 3D Effects”
There is no step 3
What’s impressive has been Apple’s ability to keep this thing under wraps so far…
and don’t forget about HEAT from a bulb, among other things… but ya never know, new techologies all the time.

Check out the link (tried to get WMP to work) from what I can see from the choppy playback, I think I would just take a video camera with me.
I dunno. Looks pretty cool.

Thank you thank you thank you!
I’ve never clicked through an add and learned to tune them out years ago, but the linked words infuriate me. I’ve made it an extra point to move my mouse away from the body of text just incase i were to accidently pop one up and generate any sort of hit.
You sir, are my hero.
To Ampar,
I took a look at the sight. It looks like some interesting ideas but I forsee a number of major issues. People do not add photo info, they leave things as they come out of the camers, with the data flashing 12/12/1900 .lol ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
Speaking of interesting, have you seen Apples Quicktime VR in operation. Take photos of the different sides of an object or the scene around you and make it into a panaramoic image that you can rotate and flip.
Just a thought.

I could be wrong but I believe that a scoble is an old old wooden ship used during the civil war era
