OneDigitalLife has posted shots of what is ostensibly a large WWDC banner hanging in San Francisco’s Moscone Center:
Larger image with the perspective fixed here.
More here.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Johnny O” for the heads up.]
MacDailyNews Take: We’ll leave it to you to decipher, but the 64-bit part and the unchanged Power Mac (Mac Pro) casing are among the most notable items shown on the banner.

Scoble on Apple: ‘Dizzying amount of new products’ coming at WWDC – August 03, 2006
This is obviously real. What faker would think to put a bicycle in the picture? It probably belongs to Steve Jobs.
Freddy says; “Don’t wet your shorts expecting a bunch of hardware announcements at WWDC.”
Do youse guys know what WWDC stands for? Yeah, Developers Conference as in SOFTWARE!!!!
And, it’s AUGUST!!!!!
Come on people get real. No iPods, no iPhone, no MacPro, and sadly, no, no iHammer – not at WWDC.
Think software. A look at OSX.5 and how about a spreadsheet for iWork? Maybe a few more goodies. Wait for Sept for the big hardware announcement that will make people forget to talk about that MS Zune piece of shit thing.
“What it is for, who knows? Boot camp?”
Um, universal binary:
http://www.apple.com/universal/
totally fake.
“no iHammer”
What?! I heard MC Hammer was going to demonstrate balloon pants with an integrated iPod! Can’t touch this.
Ampar & Fanatic Illusionist,
Tx for that.
My eyes were being deceived by the lighting rig. It’s as clear as day once someone gives you a clue.
I was wondering about the “Q” in the far right, between the 64-bit chip and the MacBook Pro.
It’s either this…
or this.
New Finder?
Huh. Apple appears to be launching it’s own coffee. The iBuzz perhaps?
The “X” symbol on the image of the single key is very much styled as if it were the “X” used to signify a function in math…or in a SPREADSHEET?
Everyone now
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers,
Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers…
….Sweat profusely
zeke – it’s actually the symbol for X11.
see here.
although i don’t expect it at WWDC, apple is due for some updates to practically all of their products according to macrumor’s buying guide. should be a pretty exciting sept. & holiday buying season!
now i just gotta get me some $$ to afford those goodies. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

Go to here for a more expansive explanation. (They just missed the airport exress icon in the upper right)
Ampar –
That sounds good to me. With an iPod Shuffle to eat on the side.
If this is a real banner, then it’s a real photo, hence those questions :
a) what are the black-covered posters hanging on the celling. Leopard “available now” ?
b) what is the slogan, ending by “nt platform.” as shown at the left hand side of the banner. “Giant” ?
Plus this one : there is no mention of Windows or BootCamp. Why ?

Stop coming to MDN if you can’t appreciate the articles posted. Even if you think these are “fluff” they are still fun to read and look at. Get over yourselves and launch your own site if you honestly think you can do it better. Keep up the good work MDN.
“That sounds good to me. With an iPod Shuffle to eat on the side.”
Only if a laxative is part of the mix.
to miniotdr:
its not nt its ht read my previous post to see what it says.
MDN Magic Word: “couldnt”-
Couldn’t people bother to read other posts before asking question others already answered?
<bAmpar</b>, yes, coffee cup likely reference to Java.
Scott, that can’t be all that’s changing in iSync.
R, if the 64-bit thing were for the G5, they’d bury it.
Carlo, isn’t it more like three years for the G5?
Follower, looks like Quartz Extreme to me.
Zeke, in case you missed it, that’s “X-Windows”, a technology that lets you run graphic apps on Unix systems. A bit ‘difficult’, but better than having to ‘be there’.
Any asked questions not addressed? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
That leopard disc design is awsome.
I am so excited for wwdc
The Macbooks clearly say its a new banner…and all anyone says about the Mac Pro redesigns are internal and changes to the layout of holes in the back
you know, it’s too bad that banner gives away so little info. Last years gave away tons
Loru, there have also been a couple references to a second removable media door on the front.

The only difference is that in WWDC 2005, Apple already released Tiger.
Leopard isn’t out yet, so nothing is really shown that we haven’t seen already.
