Block writes, “Hell, at this point the only mystery is why they’re bothering to keep it such a secret, but so long as they’re withholding it from the general public, we’re going to be invariably baited into running possibly-photoshopped images of what could be ads depicting the device everyone’s been waiting for. According to this particular rendition it’s going to be called iChat Mobile…”

Well for starters the camera (if that what it is on the back) is on the back.
How could you “chat” with someone and not be able to look at them-and them see you. Unless you were able to flip the phone back and forth – faster than the speed of light.
That might work.
At least the idea of using OS X as an interface in a step in the correct direction.

This is definitely a fake. As someone pointed out in that forum, you cannot do a ichat video chat if your camera is at the back.
I think it’s real, but I don’t think it’s what most people think. This particular device is not the “iPhone” cell phone. I think it is more of an accessory. It will most likely be iChat capabilities in hardware form over wifi, or maybe bluetooth. but most likely wifi, which could allow you to use it at any hot spot anywhere. And if Apple is including enhanced/integrated VoIP capabilities for iChat with Leopard, as some “reports” (rumors) indicate, then potentially a dial-in number that will essentially give us a VoIP handset. Just my take.
MDN, I see Apple is going with the “Vintage” click-wheel on their new sage-colored i-Phone. I like it.
