  1. Other than the updated “look and feel” and the Unicode support, finally…I don’t see much to get excited over. But…since I do use Yahoo on it’s on once in a while, I’ll have to check it out.

  2. Not only is it new and looks good, it lacks all of the adware that comes with and takes up so much of the viewing area of the Windows client.

Yahoo does do webcam with PC users using the higher quality video now. (they say audio is coming soon)

Additionally, there are some nice bezel effects when you new users arrive and depart and some other nice OSX-type features… someone at Yahoo has been using OSX for awhile to include some of these.

  3. Holly cow!

Yahoo! finally throws us Mac users a bone after ignoring us for so many years?

How about making your games completly Javascript based so we can play them too?

And how about not requiring IE for everything?

  4. So MDN does read their email. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” /> The new chat client is pretty cool. And I couldn’t believe that the built-in iSight worked flawlessly.

  5. The webcam feature works but the video is somewhat jerky on my older Mac, at least compared to video from the same firewire cam using iChat. I would hope future releases might perhaps improve on this circumstance.

  6. I believe this was released on the 28th of June and I’ve been trying it out since then so it’s good to see MDN is on the ball.

Other sites covered it soon after release and I revealed it on Spymac. As MDN didn’t seem to know about it I submitted an email but it looks like I wasn’t the only one.

Anyway the Messenger looks good and works well. It will be interesting to see how well the Voice feature works when it’s added in the next release.
