How to tell if your Apple iPod nano, iPod shuffle is counterfeit

“Apple’s iPod has become so popular that counterfeiters are making their own versions and passing them off as authentic. At first glance, the fake iPods appear very real,” iPod Gear reports.

Even the boxes in which the iPods are packaged are counterfeits.

“Note [that] the On/Off switch on the fake iPod shuffle has no repeat setting. Also, [it has] no battery light indicator,” iPod Gear reports. “The fake iPod nano’s screen is very different in shape [and] the interface is nothing like the iPod interface.”

  1. That’s a relief. It’s a good thing I bought 50 nanos from a street vendor the other day for $10 a piece. Hopefully he hasn’t caught on yet that there are fake iPods out. He might start selling those…

  2. Yeah, but are they iTunes compatible?

What’s great about China is even the State of the Art tech equipment is made there now, right next door to the Commie-trademark infringing-patent ignoring-copyright cheating Chinese government sweat shops that retain the legal right to steal IP by walking through the front door, grabbin’ it and then cooking up their own version for sale back to us in the good ole US of A. We are going to be so happy in 20 years when the world slips into a depression 10 times worse than the “great depression” in the early 1900’s. To top it off, China will be sitting pretty to rule the world economically, then eventually politically.

Thank you Slick Willie for handing over the keys to the candy store… (can you say MFN status? I thought you could)

  3. Huh? Our current good old boy is the guy personally responsible for racking up $9,000,000,000,000 in debt – what are you blaming Bill Clinton for?

Sure, lowering taxes makes you popular in the short term, but debt doesn’t go away unless you PAY IT – georgie has a nine trillion doller mess that someone has to clean up

  4. “To top it off, China will be sitting pretty to rule the world economically, then eventually politically.”

Yeah, but at the rate they are poisoning the farmlands they will have no agriculture. Maybe the world community can impose food sanctions.

  5. With the current Worst President Ever™, it’s good to know that the few supporters he has left can still find a way to blame Clinton for all of our woes. I would find it humorous, but for the fact that you actually believe it. Had Clinton done one percent of the bad things that Dumbya had done, the Republicans would have impeached him. Oh yeah, that’s right. They did impeach him – for a blow job of all things. Yeah, I know what you are gonna say: “We didn’t impeach him for the blow job. We impeached him for lying.” Hmmmmm, and Dumbya didn’t “lie” about anything, right?

If I were you, I’d worry less about China taking over and more about the fact that if your Constitutional rights are degraded anymore, living in China will actually be more free than living in the good ol’ US of A.

  6. Jimbo von Winskinheimer: “If I were you, I’d worry less about China taking over and more about the fact that if your Constitutional rights are degraded anymore, living in China will actually be more free than living in the good ol’ US of A.”

Congratulations! You are now officially listed in my book as a total ignorant idiot.

Can we take up a collection and send pitiful Jimbo von Winskinheimer person to China to live?
Yes, Jimbo von Winskinheimer, you are stupid beyond belief. You wouldn´t know a Constitutional right if you saw one. But then you probably think being an idiot is a Constitutional right of yours.

  7. Consider yourselves lucky. We have a new conservative prime minister in Canada….Stephen Harper. The only diiferrence between the two is that Harper pronounces nuclear properly. We are back to the days of Mulroney and Reagan.

    God help us all……

Magic word Working,…as ithese leaders are just as phoney and useless ad the iPod knock-offs.

  8. OK, Mr. Stevens, I had hoped that those of you ignorant enough to not know of one single Constitutional right that has been taken away would not show up. I’ll cite you a few rights that have been eroded, then you can go back to your trailer to sleep with your sister under your Confederate flag:

    – The right to a fair and speedy trial is (was) guaranteed by our Constitution. That right was taken away when Dumbya decided that he could hold prisoners (even Americans) forever without even charging them.

    – The right to gather in peaceful demonstrations is (was) guaranteed by our Constitution. That right was taken away multiple times by the current admin.

Further, I believe that illegal wiretaps that are conducted are just that – illegal and unconstitutional. That’s why they are called “illegal”.

Still further, I don’t believe that the president has the right to break other laws, such as allowing torture against the Geneva Convention, outing a CIA agent for political gain, etc.

There you go you backwoods inbred piece of crap. Read ’em and weep.

  9. Jimbo, if ignorance is bliss then you are in heaven.

When will you be moving to China? Maybe you can provide a safehouse there for some anti-American terrorists whose “Constitutional rights” would be infringed on if they are caught trying to kill U.S. citizens. I am sure they would love to hear about your Constitutional rights worries. LOL.
Why don´t you go down to Guantanamo and try to free some of your “Constitutional rights” challenged friends behind bars there that you are worried about their rights being violated.
    LOL.
Go back in your hole Jimbo.

P.S. The Geneva Convention is not a law to be broken. Silly you! If Bush is breaking the Geneva Convention law will he have to serve jail time in Geneva? LOL. Laughing in your face, Jimbo. Ring, ring, ring – oops, there´s the bell Jimbo, back to High School remedial history and civics class for you.

  10. TO Mr. Stevens….

Well, as a casual bystander, it appears that YOU do not know what a Constitutional Right is.. Jimbo gave us three very distinct examples that, arguably, are correct.

And all your knee-jerk reactions and name-calling to Jimbo really only makes it appear that the only bell that was ringing was in YOUR high school. Government class is a 12th grade class. You’ll get there soon.

  11. TOP TEN SIGNS YOUR IPOD MAY BE COUNTERFEIT

    10. The free “iToozhn” software attempts to steal your bank information.
    9. The included USB2 cable is actually a small piece of string and a paperclip.
    8. It comes preloaded with the complete Beatles library.
    7. To do a hard reset, you need to turn it upside down and shake it vigorously.
    6. The wooden body of the iPod is poorly carved.
    5. Apple logo replaced with Nike “swoosh”.
    4. Emits moans when click wheel stroked.
    3. Instructions say “Please DO eat iPod shuffle”, and lists nutrition information.
    2. Has FM radio built in

And the number sign your iPod may be counterfeit…

    1. You actually found one a week before Christmas!

  12. Sorry but by breaking the Geneva Conventions, we are indeed breaking a law. The US signed the Geneva Conventions, a set of treaties. This is basically an agreement with other countries that we will not do certain things. It is illegal to break a treaty without due process, I believe. You ask, “if we break it, will we go to jail in Geneva?” The true answer to that is no, but he should. Breaking international treaties should be cause for a war crimes tribunal similar to what Saddam Hussein or Milosivich gets to go through, but that won’t happen here.

My prediction is that Bush will skate away scott free for all the crimes he’s committing because his administration is so corrupt that no one is holding him accountable for what he’s doing. History will judge the Worst President Ever™ for his failures. Meantime, the freedoms that took hundreds of years and hundreds of thousands of lives to get and protect will be remembered in history as having disappeared in just 8 years. Ahh, but don’t you feel “safer” having given up those freedoms?

As for the guys down in Guantanamo, they must be guilty or we wouldn’t hold them – right? Uh, no. That is what a trial is supposed to be used for.
