BeLight Software today announced their “Switcher Contest” — dedicated to Apple’s 30th Anniversary (April 1).
No doubt that to most of us Mac OS faster, a lot safer and easier to use than Windows. But sometimes, you can spend dead hours persuading people around you, mostly they just won’t listen. What would you do to get them switched to Mac side?

The doorway for Windows users to switch to Mac is a simple clean way to run Windows on Apple hardware (without a significant performance hit).
I have many Windows-using associates who would like to taste Mac OS and they believe Apple hardware is quality but they don’t have the space, time or desire to maintain two piles of hardware.
Just yesterday I was talking with a good friend who has a high regard for Apple and Mac OS but he needs a new PC to run industrial programming software and AutoCad.
I mentioned that XP is running native on Intel based Apple hardware and he was excited, but after investigation, the tedious installation process and lack of drivers is too experimental and quirky to jeopardize his job and income.
A well developed virtualization scheme that would allow Apple hardware to run DOS, Windows, Linux and Mac OS would definitely help Apple sell a lot more computers.
Anything in to anything out but only one place to run Mac OS, on Apple. That would be a very compelling feature set and marketing position for Apple to shoot for.

Like andy said, I loaned an old graphite iMac to a friend with panther on it. She fell in love and bought an ibook. Now she’s converting others. Good times.
Simple: give ’em a Mac.
once upon a time, my sister was sharing my ibook. she wanted to buy her own computer and bought a gateway (14″, centrino, dvd burner – even i was impressed. reaaally nice screen.)
she used it for a week and wanted to return it for an ibook because she missed the ‘little things’ that she felt made her more productive like the colour labels on folders and the speed the computer went to and woke from sleep. She also loved Spotlight as it was an extremely useful tool for what she does.
luckily, the return policy was fantastic and we didn’t need to pay a restocking fee. the computer was returned in perfect condition and now she loves her 12″ ibook.
