“Bill Gates launched .Net, a new way of programming Windows applications, to much fanfare in 2000. And when Microsoft started developing Windows Vista, a new operating system due out this year, company officials promised it would make heavy use of .Net. But British programmer Richard Grimes says Microsoft is pulling back on use of .Net in Vista. Grimes studied a prerelease version of Vista and found that it didn’t use .Net much. Grimes’ conclusion: Microsoft has lost confidence in .Net and no longer plans to use it to write its own software. One downside to the change in plans: The older programming tools that Microsoft programmers used to write Vista could result in an operating system that’s more virus-prone than a version of Windows written with .Net, which has built-in security features,” Owen Thomas reports for Business 2.0.

I can tell, retarded MAC users that you we’re trying con me into posting. You succeeded. Even without .Net support, Vista will rock. XP rocks, and it was released 3 years ago!. I mean, OS X only has transparent windows in what, the Terminal? No one uses that except the friggin’ UNIX freaks, and if you are a UNIX freak, why the hell are you using a Macintosh? Macs are for 3 year olds, people who ride the short bus thrice daily, and fags. Oh! My computer’s white! its got an little Apple sticker on it! little apples everywhere. Whee! Transparent windows are a MAJOR productivity enhancer. I can see the window behind it, thus shorting the time it takes to recognize my other apps.I can do anything you can do, faster, quicker, and speedier, on Windows 3.1.1. Macs are so friggin gay.

Uh, actually Apple was doing transparencies with pretty much all layered windows and then scaled back the eye candy (a couple versions) ago to user’s request since the users preferred performance over see through windows!
