Joy of Tech comic replaces Shatner’s Captain Kirk with Apple CEO Steve Jobs

Today’s Joy of Tech comic harks back to William Shatner’s 1986 “Get A Life!” Saturday Night Live sketch in which Shatner, as Captain Kirk at a Star Trek Convention exhorted Trekkies to “get a life” and asked whether they had “ever kissed a girl?”

The Joy of Tech comic replaces Shatner’s Kirk with Apple CEO Steve Jobs onstage at Apple’s recent media event where the new Intel-based Mac mini and iPod Hi-Fi speaker system was introduced.

  1. I pointed this out in the “Apple CEO Jobs’ announcements last week interesting because of what he chose not to say” thread after BuriedCaesar linked to it.

  2. Funny, but true.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the stats on this site showed most of the posters are on Win boxes.

Of course they may have a Mac at home, but they are coming here while at work.

And we all know PC’s are quite annoyingly abundant at workplaces.

  3. “MacDailyNews Take: Not funny. Not funny at all!”

I wonder how many people this really hits home with?? It’s funny but at the same time so true. I mean honestly, if you’re actually involved in real life, you don’t have time to argue over a computer. Most normal people prefer to prioritize social interaction over spending hours of making fake pictures of Apple new product wet dream fantasies.
